now for the HOW OLD are you thread/insurance??

Combine Insurance and age in one post. At least it gives me something to smile about...

Hit 50, feel 35, act 20 and mental age of 10, but only pay just over £200 fully comp, protected NCB, etc. on the 3.0i Z

Ah the benefit of age. I can also insure my 6 litre V8 Jeep for £118 PA and a 3.0i X5 sport for another £200... :) :) :)

I'm 38 and just paid £630, with £300 excess on a 2.5, 9 years PNCB, no points of convictions, does that sound expensive? It was the best quote I could find.

I've just turned 30. I'm a SINK(E) Single income, no kids (ever)

insurance wise -
swiftcover £615 (8yrs NCB/Legal Cover/ NCB Protected /£150 excess /3 points for exceeding the speed limit on a motorway  ) and £50 cashback from http://www.topcashback.com

28, 5 yrs NCB, west london postcode, no points with swiftcover = £750 fully comp

didnt know about the £50 cashback doh!!!

^^ There is one, I am just too lazy tonight to go dig it up :P

There was a thread for UK insurance... is this the one you were referring to?

http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1550&p=32666&hilit=+insurance#p32666

On a slightly different note (insurance still)... how come the UK guys all talk about who they are insured with and the best deal, but the US guys never do? Does insurance not work the same over there?

It's because there's about a zillion insurances here, and 50 States (each with their own regulations on coverage). So my $90/month insurance with the one I'm with probably won't help the guy who's in Florida etc.

Rates also will differ slightly depending on the area you live in in the city.

I've also heard that some insurances now look into your credit rating to determine costs too (dunno if that's true?).

The only thing I'm confused here is the insurance, I'm 25, married and obviously a female(!) and my Zed is 2.2l with 2 years NCB, yet my insurance is still £1000 this year!
I'm 23 (Z4 M Coupe, male, single) and am paying £1300 with Elephant. As i've said, i've got a £2000 excess.

Was curious so just got a new quote - 3 years NCB (used to have 6 - grrr) , 26, just quoted £997 with Admiral through insuresupermarket.com... £400 excess.

Little White Shark, I am sure you can do better than £1000 on a 2.2

Yeh, I think I better have another look at my insurance quote! It was the cheapest I could find on moneysupermarket.com. It can't be to do with the area I live in because there's a Lambo right behind where we live! I think it may be because I crashed last year (not my fault!) but even though my NCB wasn't affected, that may have something to do with it.

Some days 26, some days 86. :? Licence says 49.
Besides, it's not the age that gets you, it's the mileage!
As for insurance... $1800.00 per year for my home owners policy, full coverage w/towing, on my Zed, liability on my 78 F-250 4x4 and 89 Bronco ll 4x4, Zed alone is $830.00 yr. Sate Farm.

That will be it... the NCB is just the discount you get off the bottom line figure... that bottom line figure is dependent on a lot of things including accidents in the last 4 years.

...and, you can get huge "multi=policy" discounts for multiple cars, home, and life insurance policies. I even get a discount because my daughter gets good grades in school!

Think they have only just started doing multi-car policy discounts etc over here, saved me a few pounds this year :)

34 with no points and max NCB..... Not sure as I've changed car mid way through my policy. Should work out to be £550 when the time comes to renew.
