Before we go can someone lend Peddy a copy of Smokey and the Bandit so he can brush up on his CB speak :poke:

"Eastbound and down, 18 wheels a rollin' and we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there, eastbound what that Bandit run!
Them smokeys got their ears on..."

Did my nut in hearing that thing every night!

hehe... I am so sorely tempted to get a CB :D

Smokey and the Bandit a film from 1977...erm... that's older than me, but you guys seem to know it quite well! :poke:

And I do know what 10-4 is.... never heard of "1 4" though - unless it was joke or something... i guess i'm not OOOOLD enough to get it!!

...don't need to see some bandit movie! :poke: :P
yeah you do! But only because it's great! While you're at it, watch Convoy & Vanishing Point... and if you haven't seen Bullitt, slap yourself, hand your male-membership-card in at the front desk then go watch that too ;)

Just been reading this month's Evo magazine and they ended up in Liverpool on one road test. Hmm, wonder if we should factor in an early morning 8:30 am Liverpool start and 'do' the Mersey Tunnel :D It is on the way for those starting from Liverpool or anyone else who fancies the detour.

The noise is

You guys fancy getting some walkie talkies?

Works out to be no more than £9.50 each and cheaper if we get a few sent to one member...

In fact, this guy is near liverpool so we could drop by and pick them up! :)

as anybody order a set?

Going to have a trial run tomorrow morning to check the route, make sure ther's no unexpected problems and have a look at one or two places to stop. 140 miles from Queensferry and back. May take the MX5 to see what it's like on the twisties :)

I don't see why not... any walkie talkie gurus out there now for sure?

Best bet is for everyone to buy PMR 446 standard radios, they'll be a little bit more expensive but it's a common standard and there's lots of channels to choose from, meaning less chance of stomping over someone elses frequencies and meaning they'll definitely all work together.

You can also generally buy them in singles too, so no need to buy a pair of two :)
