North Wales Run Sunday 10th April

Talking of sat nav, I have a V31 software disc in the car if anyone needs an update at the meet - just did mine tonight (still hunting for v32 but this one works well as I used it on my old zed with no problems).

M'think I've got that on a CD somewhere, with the "night colour" mods and speed camera warnings etc. Will try and mentally link it to the radios and remember them both - I'll either remember both or forget both :)

Hi all, I just had my phone remind me about this, as the weather is looking pretty damn good for the weekend it's a toss up between this run in the car and heading out the same way on the bike, tough call. Sammyz, could I have your number and the meet details if you're organising (not read the whole thread yet), that way I can confirm nearer the time, just seeing what biker friends are doing at the moment.

Just a quick question on how it went last year, what's the driving style? North Wales police like their camera vans and unmarked cars.

Kiowan, i will send you p.m. with meet details.

Drive will be sensible speeds, I know these roads well and try to find 'B' roads that are wide, 60 MPH limit and quiet enough so we can push to the speed limit where it's safe to do so. :)

This route also has some narrow roads which I've included more for the scenery and to break up the route. After lunch we will head over to the Evo triangle and I intend to let people drive it a couple of times at their own pace.

FWIW I've never seen the police on the triangle, they seem to prefer the main A roads such as the A5 where cars (and bikes :) ) can reach speeds way over the 60 MPH limit. As I'm at the front i will not be speeding on main roads (but I'll have the Road Angel on just in case!)

this is the list I have at present. Some have p.m.d me which is fine. Please let me know if you're not going so we don't wait around for any 'no shows'. weather is now 'sunny' for tomorrow so better bring the sun cream 8)

Do you want somewhere quiet to drive, or to be with a large group.

If the latter, simply head for the Ponerosa Cafe on top of the Horseshoe Pass.

If the former, then you're may as well head to the Evo Triangle.

Either way, you'll probably find the weather has brought out the caravans :headbang:

Hi :) just arrived in Chester after a few hours of painful traffic jams on the m6 (although by far offset by the roof down, the glorious sun and an S54 soundtrack). Think a leisurely stroll into Chester and a beer would be in order :0D

Safe journey and see you all in the morning :)

Hope it's not too late! Can join the run? I only live 15 mins away from the Starbucks cafe so will see you there around 10.00.

Thanks, Warren

Weather here in Liverpool is gorgeous, seen 22 degrees on the temp gauge so it's looking great for the morning - see you all there :)

DIASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had my brake warning No parts in stock till monday! Gutted doesnt begin to cover it! :x
Have fun boys and girls- pics please as well!

Pad wear sensor? I'm sure someone else can advise better but i imagine there's a comfort margin in there ;)

Yes I would say once your wear sensor triggers you still have a good few miles left before you start eating into the backing plate. Can always have a look if there's room or pull the wheel off for a better look if not, I'd suspect you still have 2-3mm left.

Spent a few hours cleaning my car this afternoon.. ready for tomorrow... drove to leiceter and back (60 miles) and amazingly for a black car it still looks clean!

See you all tomorrow!

Ummm I think i'm gonna have to bail, ive been really looking forward to it but i'm still in Sheffield and am a little bit battered-Po have good one everyone

Pow! The sun is out already and the dew is burning off fast :D

First dilemma of the day - how far can you push the unlimited cooked breakfast before they refuse you more tasty bacon :P. Then the hunt for vpower commences!

See you at the meeting point at 9:30 (probably be early as I'm only 9 miles from there).
