Nooo...my first random fault lights

Yes that’s the one I’ve placed an order as the offer looked a good opportunity. Should have it by the weekend. :)

So my Autophix 5900 turned up early and I reset the faults only for the same to reappear. The fault is as per the image 5064F1D5-AD68-4033-A115-FBD00FDE07DF.jpeg

Yep, abs pressure sensor then. You should probably just change both....the Chinese ebay ones work just fine.

Is it something that even a non mechanic like me can do or will I need to get the brakes bled which is way over my capabilities?? :headbang: :o :!:

Cling film over the brake fluid cap opening and screw it back on. Then just whip them out one at a time and screw the new one in as quickly as possible. You will find fluid leakage minimal and no need to bleed brakes.

Good job you didn’t start wasting your time pulling abs sensors from the wheels.

Also be aware to change the second sensor you need to have the first one off the car. I tried to change the sensors one at a time and it didn’t go well; unscrew the first one, unscrew the second then put the new ones on as quickly as possible. And that’s all you need to do.

Brilliant thank you for the advice. Just need to find the parts online and I’m ready to give it a go

New sensor did the trick all done (did it myself !), thanks to ph001 for the excellent advice. :D

I have the same 2 fault lights on my 2004 z4,
When the fault lights are on there is a definite change in the handling of the car,
ie; the steering feels sticky/unstable,when I stop the car ,turn ignition off then back on
the lights go out and steering is back to normal.
Any experts out the explain my problem
Thanks in advance

Go through this thread the advice is excellent. But I did start by buying a code reader to be sure if the faults, once confirmed it transpired that I just needed to change the two brake pressure sensors located in the engine bay near the brake fluid.
Code reader was the Autophix 5900
If I could replace them then anyone can didn’t take me long.

Not that I could tell but a couple of days prior to the lights my steering was a bit sticky but I hear that’s a common fault when the outside temperature goes up.
