NOOO!!! I've met my twin.

I'm still in shock...

I was on my way home yesterday from Redmond (i.e. land of Microsoft), minding my own business. I see a nice Black M3 on the road and we're driving side by side. Kewl. I'm checkin' out his ride... he's checkin' out mine... all is well. Eventually, I made a right turn at the intersection, leaving the M3 to his own merry way. What happens next? Out of the corner of my eye I spot an Imola Red M Coupé coming the other way! NOOOO WAY!!!!!

In a split second, I subconsciously lift my hand and wave to the other driver (as if I've known them for many years). At the exact same moment, he's waving at me too! Weird...

In my 10 months of ownership, yesterday was my first time I've ever seen an M Coupé on the road. I would have expected to see a Silver-Grey or Black Sapphire, but never an Imola Red. What's eerie about this encounter was how our BMW gene was immediately activated and then up our arms went, flailing about in the universal gesture of hello.

I wonder if that owner browses these forums... if so, maybe he can log in as Rick Hunter's trusty partner in crime, Max Sterling... :)

10 months is a good run, especially in Microsoft town. :D Besides, he's not exactly your twin, unless he also has M6 wheels.

Since the Z4M came out in April, '06, I've yet to bump into another silver gray M-roadster with imola red interior. In fact, it wasn't until last month that I bumped into another silver gray M-roadster for the 1st time - though it had black interior (MakoBimmer's doesn't count lol).

Well that sure is a co-inkydink there Rick.

I have yet to see another coupe since owning mine (3 months). I've encountered I think 3 Z4 roadsters though. Didn't get a wave from any of them. Bloody BMW snobs.

Honestly, these things are so rare, I half expect to chuck a yewie when I first see one and chase her down for a bit of a nag.

Oh and always love your photos, Rick

That was NOT another Emma look alike; it WAS Emma.
You must have been stuck in a time warp and passed yourself going to work in the morning.

....I saw my twin last week, only other M-Roady I've seen on the road.
I waved... & got a strange look back, from the other driver.
Seconds later I realized that I was driving my truck

Wow Rick, what a trip! I wonder if that other Imola Red coupe driver also has a minivan? :poke:

Awww... you're such a sweetie. You just made my day! I guess my car IS better than his... and faster with the Rick Hunter Stubby (less unsprung weight with the lighter aerial) :D

Oh nooo. I don't want to pass myself. I haven't passed an m roadster while I was driving mine yet. My husband sent me a text yesterday while I was at work to tell me he saw an interlagos blue one close to our house. I felt relieved that I was on the other side of town.

Well, Rick, I think it is a good thing. Glad to hear that you aren't the only one in your neck of the woods with impeccable taste in vehicles. :D

LOL. I may work IN the land of Microsoft, but I don't work FOR Microsoft. Maybe the other Coupé fellow does... :idunno:

BTW, I'm a FireFox, Google, etc. user, and try to stay away from Microsoft products whenever I can. I don't hate MS, I just don't prefer it. :)
