I'm still in shock...
I was on my way home yesterday from Redmond (i.e. land of Microsoft), minding my own business. I see a nice Black M3 on the road and we're driving side by side. Kewl. I'm checkin' out his ride... he's checkin' out mine... all is well. Eventually, I made a right turn at the intersection, leaving the M3 to his own merry way. What happens next? Out of the corner of my eye I spot an Imola Red M Coupé coming the other way! NOOOO WAY!!!!!
In a split second, I subconsciously lift my hand and wave to the other driver (as if I've known them for many years). At the exact same moment, he's waving at me too! Weird...
In my 10 months of ownership, yesterday was my first time I've ever seen an M Coupé on the road. I would have expected to see a Silver-Grey or Black Sapphire, but never an Imola Red. What's eerie about this encounter was how our BMW gene was immediately activated and then up our arms went, flailing about in the universal gesture of hello.
I wonder if that owner browses these forums... if so, maybe he can log in as Rick Hunter's trusty partner in crime, Max Sterling...
