Morning all,

Just picked up my car yesterday (having posted a couple of times on here already. It's a pretty much completely stock SE Coupe on a 56 plate, here's the first pic I've taken of it.

Drove it back from Kent which was quite a slog but had a chance to feel out a bit the car's characteristics and am liking it. Being someone who doesn't especially enjoy putting fuel in a car I was quite pleased to get high 30s mpg too. Have a few small things I need to sort out on the car, the first of which is that between picking the car up and getting home, one of the headlamp washer covers (and - as far as I can see - the jet below it) appears to have disappeared, leaving just an ugly hole in the bumper.

I have to be honest and say I didn't check the operation of these when looking at the car, so it could just have been blutacked in place! Any pointers for getting this sorted (should I be posting this question elsewhere?)

anyway, looking forward to being part of the community.

Enjoy being part of the exclusive coupé owners club. This car will make you the envy of roadster owners nationwide

This.

:D

Congratulations on the new purchase!

Cheers chaps. Have previously found a similar Skoda-owners forum extremely helpful for my other car, good to know that there's some helpful people out there in beemerland too.

Landed a great car & a great forum :) lots of advice when you want it & the rest of the time just useless banter :P
happy coupeing

Welcome

you do occasionally hear of headlight washer jet covers going walkies. Stealer or breakers job. you should be able to see the top of the jet through the hole.

Or you can also open the rear access panel - look at the wheel well and you'll see a panel. go full lock for easier access. take a look in. if it aint there then further investigation... youll need the bumper off but that us a simple 20 min job.

looks like it's a new cover and a new jet. posted a photo here: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=49115

i'm going to search breakers to try and find replacement bits. bit of a pain - literally the first drive after buying the car they disappear.

hello spikey

ah damn, i hoped i had the only one :-)

know any good independent bmw-specialist garages in the area? my skoda has been very well cared for by VW-Audi Garage in Bradford on Avon and I'm reluctant to pay main dealer prices for looking after my new toy.

Another from Bath! Nice car buddy! We might be trying to arrange a meet around Melksham for the Bath and Bristol owners if your interested!?

Hi Jezzer;

I've only had mine for a month so not looked at specialist / dealers yet

Mine had an ins II before I collected it - was going to be done in the Bath dealer but supplier decided on the Bristol one as costs were much cheaper ( standard fare for Bath businesses I suppose - expensive)

Think there is a specialist near Melksham - will do some digging and come back

Enjoy your purchase - I'm still getting used to mine - very pleased with it
