Non-Run Flat Tyres HELP

I run a standard 2.5i with 18inch "M" five spoke alloys. Taking the various opinions on this forum I ditched the run flats in favour of ordinary tyres in order to improve the ride quality.

Big problem, front end is now very light, steering not positive, front wheel seem to be fighting each other (tracking/setup checked twiceat different locations). I may have got the wrong type of tyre. Tyre size is 225/40 R18 92Y I have fitted Bridgestones but rating is 88W Is this significant? Also BMW handbook indicates that their approved tyres have a "star" on them. Rears are fine and have the "star", fronts do not. Tyre seems too "soft" a compound. Help!!!!! Please can anyone tell me exactly which tyres they use for the fronts when getting rid of runflats.

I had similar issues when I moved, they usually wear off after a few hundred miles

Give the tyres a few hundred miles to bed in and it should be ok.

Thanks, I wondered about bedding in, but tyres have done about 1000miles, situation not improving. I have read good reviews of Vredestein Ultra Sessanta option. I might give these a try. Current new Bridgestones not lost as they will fit my other car.

What tyre pressures are you running? You could try dropping them a couple of PSI.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for trying to assist. Problem now solved. It was the load rating of the Bridgestone tyres. 88 is too low must be a minimum of 90 (as per manufacturer specs). May not seem much but it equates to around 120pounds difference in load capacity. Tyre walls not stiff enough on the 88's. I have just had Vredestein Sessanta fitted 92 rating, car now handles as it should and better ride than run-flats, no tracking etc.

My 3.0Si Sport had OEM Bridgestone RE050 fitted as follows

225 40 R18 88W
255 35 R18 90W
