I run a standard 2.5i with 18inch "M" five spoke alloys. Taking the various opinions on this forum I ditched the run flats in favour of ordinary tyres in order to improve the ride quality.
Big problem, front end is now very light, steering not positive, front wheel seem to be fighting each other (tracking/setup checked twiceat different locations). I may have got the wrong type of tyre. Tyre size is 225/40 R18 92Y I have fitted Bridgestones but rating is 88W Is this significant? Also BMW handbook indicates that their approved tyres have a "star" on them. Rears are fine and have the "star", fronts do not. Tyre seems too "soft" a compound. Help!!!!! Please can anyone tell me exactly which tyres they use for the fronts when getting rid of runflats.
