No Longer a Z4M owner....soon to be an M4 owner!

...as of today.

As some of you will have read previously, I have purchased a house with no off-street parking and as such, the head won a battle with my heart and I took the decision to wave goodbye to the Z.

I didn't get around to posting an advert, had a couple of PMs and today the car drove away with Russell from Knights Garage, so anybody after a low mileage Carbon Black Z4M Coupé look out for it.

The past two years (almost to the day, collected from IKZ4 on 29 June 2013) have been fantastic, and I have loved every moment of Z4M ownership, as soon as I am in a position to get a weekend toy again, I will be looking to get into a Z4MC again (hopefully even the one I've just waved goodbye to), even if I have to splash a few extra £kkk's to get one. It is such a special car, a fantastic engine, iconic design and truly the last of an era, "The Last Emperor" as labelled last year.

We won't see a manual, Naturally aspirated screaming straight six ///M car from BMW again, these cars are truly special and worth every penny.

Here, is a photo memory of the saddest day I've had in 2015...

On to happier news, to make up for the loss of such a special car, I will be settling the finance of the very comfortable, yet horribly dull Mercedes C220 Bluetec AMG Line and getting yself into a brand new M4......a very individually specc'd M4 (will keep you all posted).

Much to the disgust of many on here, I'll be hanging around following how these special cars carry on and hopefully before too long I'll be back in the fold as an owner again.

A final note to whomever ends up in my Z4MC, she only drinks Shell VPower Nitro+, only sits on Michelin PSS and doesn't rev above 3k before oil has reached 85deg. Please don't ruin my car

Congrats on the M4.....Lovely looking car, probably the best in the BMW line up at the moment....

Shame to see the coupe go,sad day indeed.

Did you Px or sell to trade ? Did you cover many miles in it over the 2 years?

Trust you went with the proper gearbox and not the automatic? (sorry, automated manual that drives and behaves like an auto box  )

At least you saved the hassle of selling that way - bet you are looking forward to the M4.

Sad to see it go - it'll be the same for me for sure if/when it happens (not planning on it happening for a while fortunately for me). Stick around, you're a great contributor. Always liked the carbon black. Love the way the car appears to remain yours even though it's gone!!
And pics of the M4 when it's home pls...

Little confused. You didn't want to park a 15k car on the street but happy to park a 60k car on the street.? :?

M4 is a beautiful looking car thou, if I wasn't a pauper I'd have one in a heartbeat

Have to say, this has confused me too... But congratulations anyway

I couldn't begin to list all your "best bits" as there have been too many , always a good read though & look forward to the M4 pics even if "BMWs latest direction has really turned you off "
Top man Steven

Re: BMW 4 Series (Coupe of saloon) - Gran Coupe (Saloon)

I really wanted to get a BMW (perferably a 4 series) when the daily was due for renewal. Compared to Audi and Merc they are very expensive, and not places to sit (comparably).

BMW seem to be losing any kind of purpose, the ///M ranges have been constantly devalued by additions of new "M" cars in the M135 and M235 and stciking M badges on the exterior of cars that are decidedly un-M

I desperately wanted to remain a BMW man, but the new ranges and BMW's latest direction has really turned me off.

To be fair, i test drove an M3 when they first came out. At the time i really didn't get it, but since doing a fair few more miles than i was doing at the time, i now do get it, and think it would be an excellent compromise.

Excellent wafting barge, that turns into a monster!!

I saw one at the dealer day before yesterday when I was having my X5 security update done, in the flesh the M4 looks a really nice car

Congrats

I'd love to know what kind of deals they're thrashing out on M4's, I'd have one in a heartbeat.

I definitely bought the wrong house, but the missus has had her say!

As for the parking a (considerably more expensive than) £15k Z4MC on the street, I should explain. We had 3 cars and can only get 2 parking permits and the Z4 was not practical enough for me to have as my only wagon.

Eventuri went with the car and good spot Wilksy, I had previously said that BMW's new direction had turned me off, but the M4 seems to be very good value when compared against the competition (and I'm unashamedly a badge snob  ). I believe everything I said about devaluing the M badge, but to hell with it all, life's too short

And, the M4 has ofcourse been specc'd in Manual!!!

Congrats, the m4 looks awesome in the flesh, I think one of the best proportioned looking 2+2s on the market, looking to forward to hearing about your individual options?

Any teasers? Did you go sunroof or ceramics?

 I feel your pain. If the missus chose it, then it can't possibly be the wrong house. MrG chose this house and it's an idea family house, has been for 15 years. Just no double garage.

I take it she didn't get a say on the gear box. :driving:
