Newlands Corner (outside Guildford) meet March 2016

Following on from the Surrey 2016 meet thread, a number of us suggested Newlands Corner as an ideal place for a meet (but not a hoon). Newlands Corner is a beauty spot attracting a number of car and motorbike clubs as well as a starting point for ramblers. There is a cafe serving some very good breakfasts but you need to be there relatively early (around 9.30) and a very large car park. There is a possibility an entrance fee to the car park may be in place this year.
Can I kick off by suggesting Sunday 20 March as a date. I have it on good account that it will be fine sunny weather but the venue is very weather dependent !.

Fingers crossed for the weather - I've not cleaned the zed since the pistonheads Sunday service before Christmas :cry:

Yes! Given my total absence of navigational skills, I'll leave it to you to decide where would be best to meet. :P

Mine got washed yesterday for the first time since the Pistonheads meet, but by 20 March it will have had several more - at least that's the plan!

I seem to have a lot going on right now so I'll need to let you know nearer the time if I can go.

I'm a meet virgin, but would love to tag along if those from Hampshire are welcome.

Less weather dependent, but Mrs Spoon and timings of Spoon Jnrs football matches that day will play a part, so can I be provisional for now?
 
That certainly makes enough of us for a decent meet so its on. All are very welcome from however far and even if your Zed is laid up and you are using another car.
Who knows this could turn out to be a regular meet.
Nearer the time I will find out the postcode to ensure nobody gets lost.
 
But you have to drive to get there. A convoy or hoon is probably more appropriate for warmer weather. This is just an opportunity for a meet and chat - first in the year I think. Hope you can make it.
 
Newlands Corner meets are all about the bacon sandwiches :-)
That date will likely be the same day a couple of lotus forums meet up there.
