'Newby' 'starter-for 10' questions.

As an new owner of a 2004 3Ltr SE I'm wondering why no side 3.0ltr or rear Z4 badge (not too fussed but rather curious!) Were some manufactured without or have they been nicked/someone taken off??) Condoition of car suggests it was looked after, so wouldn't think anyone took off?? Thanks anyone & hope you like pic.! (Love the car by the way,so instant Z4 fan/member!) . Maybe have to wait to send pic. As can't suss how to attach!!) :D

Welcome Stevie , , more than likely enthusiastic owner deleted badges for his /her own modding purpose ?
Many remove the rear "Z4" , ,most keep the side 3.0
Pics will be asked for time again until you give them up

Welcome Stevie

Believe it or not, customers could "pay" BMW to remove the model designation....

Welcome aboard, get some pics up ASAP, we like pictures 8)

I thought model delete was a no-cost option :?

But most likely someone removed them.

Welcome Steve

Hi guys,

I went to the garage to check/prepare a few things on my 2005 3.00 Z4 for a Lay-Up for the winter, and found the battery is dead after only a few weeks left. To be fare, if it's the orig. battery (??) it's done really well. It's showing a 'Black' dot in the condition window indicating it just needs charging, however I tried jump-starting from under the bonnet terminals as per Manual but it doesn't want to know, and even the Jump starter is bleeping to indicate somethings wrong! (does this just mean the battery is so dead it's not taking a charge, even though the window colour displays Black??). A trickle charger won't work on it either/indicate the way it should for some reason so I'm presuming it's a question of getting a new battery & be done with it!?

I do have a Power Hood, so it's likely the battery has taken a beating??

Now for the crunch question, - do I/should I try trickle charging by making connections directly onto the battery terminals (despite the manual saying place on the + connection/nut connection under the bonnett?? will it do any harm (I presume not according to one recent discussion?).

Thanks for your help guys - much appreciate!

Steve.

I would always try a slow trickle charge over minimum 12 hours but if the battery is original then maybe time to switch it :?

Hi and welcome. Zed tyres click when their owner hasn't posted pics. It's their way of tutting. :D

Looking forward to seeing your merlot Zed

Welcome to the Forum

I'd get a new battery and don't mess about - unless the Zed's been stood for a long period?

:driving:
