Newbie with a serious tuning disorder.

Thought I'd have a chilled out lunch and read your updates - sounds like you're progressing, I think :dizzy:

Joined the group pretty much for this thread. Was looking for ideas for my Z, and this has just made me really jealous, but very intrigued! Doing an awesome job Stevie!!

I apologise for leaving you all waiting for an up date. My work schedule has had me putting silly hrs in the last couple of months.
Power steering has well and truly arrived. I drove it round the block and it feels effortless this time. I have to thank John and Scott for putting up with me pestering them at all hours.
I've eventually gave up with the original Z4 electric cooling fan as I couldn't get it to work with the stand alone ecu. So now where the original one sat now sits a 16" Spal fan. Once wired up it all works perfectly with the ecu controlling it. It switches on at 97deg and cuts out at 93deg and it shuts down for 5mins between these temps, so the fan is cooling the rads plenty.
Now I've started to tie up all the items that need to be tucked behind the front bumper, so as it can be fitted for good.
I have a confession for the members, I've strayed from our German marque recently and taken on another project which will be a demonstrator for future sales. It's a Mk3.5 MX5 that I'm turbocharging and want to produce kits that can be retro fitted to customer's cars. If ideas go to plan hope to have it ready for demo runs early spring.
Wee pic of how it looked the night I bought it.

Mmm for got the pics oh wee MX5
Second pic is 7 days later and coilovers, bushes , geo's, Milltek, I L anti roll bars and wheels and tyres fitted. Whew that was a busy week.

glad to hear progress is still happening :) looking forward to more pics :P

Mx5 looks pretty cool to and hopefully the kits will earn u more money to spend on the Z ;)

Now now boys. It's only a set of alloys, tho they are fairly special as they were commissioned for a race series and only 6kgs each.
My goal is run the motor around 270/300 Bhp safely. Should be a bit more entertaining .

Now that sounds like a lot of fun. Keep up the good work

Video number 13 is the one for nice sounds :)

Any more news Stevie? What was the big issue with the electrics? I am guessing it was because you wanted all the cars systems to run with a different ECU?

Hi Monkey. The main problem was I didn't have any can signals from the ecu. Now I have a bespoke black box running all the chassis control modules.
I've had to take some time of as work schedule has taken its toll on me (wheeled of to hospital to be sorted out). Was told if I continued my work regime I was putting my health at risk!!!
So now it's time to rethink my lifestyle and start planning what events I would like to be taking my project to.
As for the Z4 its waiting on its custom KW clubsport coil overs and Motorsport top mounts. They should be here for the end of the month.
I wasn't sure what to do with the Z4 ie keep it for showing and just special occasions, but now I'm feeling after spending 2yrs on it I'm thinking get out and enjoy. I'm looking at getting it ready for mot so it's all legal and good to go. Probably needs to see the road about March just so I can iron out any issues that may arise. I have one major event already planned and and its a road trip through Europe and the Alps.
