You did well to get it back after the first company went under. I wish you could do this to my car

Indeed you where!! When if I turbo my car can I have your phone number!!! :)
Why not supercharger? Seems there's plenty of the shelf kits available. Turbo charged cars especially rear wheel drive always more of a handful to drive.

A SC is the long term plan for my ///M but it'll cost £10k so I'm still thinking hard about it! In the meantime I'm in the process of fitting much more aggressive cams that should yield up to 370bhp with a remap.

stevie those pics are just awesome, how many hours approx to get to where you are now ? I have just been trying to imagine the sort of performance this stunning car is going to have, any thoughts on expected 0 to 60 times ? got to be 3.5 ish, or less has'nt it ?
have you thought about value of something this unique. it could make anything, the build quality looks so factory . amazes me how much talent is lurking on this forum. :driving: :D

For those reasons the big one is off the shelf. I want a challenge and something you can't just buy. The whole car has been a big toy for me to try things and learn from.

What else do you run on your car ie induction, and headers or is it all standard? I know these engines are very well mapped from factory and gains not easily given.
Do you have the spec of the cams I'm always interested in tweaking engines.

So many questions  The hrs I'm getting around 500, performance will be a good deal quicker than a M5 which weighs 1890kgs (Z4 1400 ish). 0 to 60 could be around 3/4 sec's . Value not sure what it'll be worth once its completely finished, still a few area's to cover. My final budget will be around 23/25K, I'm sitting at 18,500K with 6K included for the car so this wasn't going to be a cheap conversion, but hopefully fairly unique and potentially worth a bit

Carlsburg dont do mod threads... But if they did this would be it

Ever thought about boosting it after, adding a wee SC to this and who knows where it could go!

Mmmm Super charger! Now there's a thought. If I'm not mistaken there is V10's running SC's on standard internals and circa 800bhp. Think running gear would be struggling to cope with it. In fairness 550/580 will be pretty entertaining in a rear wheel drive setup and my main aim is reliability so not going to push it to its limits.

Sorry, in this case the W stands for WHERE, should have been clearer

All clear I was getting worried about you!! Cut a big f**king hole in the bonet like they do in the gud ol US of A

I dont think that boosting it to 800bhp would make any sense in driving pleasure - you would've ended up with a car that is a master of a straight line, and putting all that power down in the corner would be pretty much impossible

I've built a few 700/800bhp motors and after 10mins of oh s**t factor driving. All you want to do is park it up and seen it, done it, don't want it rings true. I'll be keeping it NA, fuel consumption will be bad enough.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ten smiley faces for every cylinder that's running in my Z4 project. Finally I have a fully running M5 V10 engine that starts on the key first time. I was stunned with how well the Specialist Components ecu ran my Z4 , they have produced a cracking ecu and map . Once I've tidied up engine bay and pulled it out of the workshop I'll take a video of it running and try and post up as I've never done a video.
It's been a year in the making and this is my own special Xmas present to myself.
