Newbie to the Z4 world - help required :)

Welcome to the Forum - you'll find it a great help. I've got a 2.0i Sport and find it's great fun as you can rev it out in the first three gears fairly safely in terms of points and licence - enough performance to feel the capabilities of the chassis and car when you're in the mood.

You've had front wheel drive cars so be aware of the rear wheel drive of the Zed - though your Zed has Dynamic Traction Control (DTC)

"Explore the limits, without exceeding them. The standard Dynamic Traction Control system (DTC) increases slip at the driven wheels in order to ensure optimum traction on any surface. Only in critical driving situations does Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) intervene. Until then, the driver is left to discover the Z4 Roadster's potential to the full" - taken from BMW site.

You will feel the difference in the handling - just remember you are being pushed around the corner not pulled - you'll enjoy it - it's why we buy a BMW/ Zed. Enjoy!

Would you recommend changing them?

Yes! Much better feel / handling on some 18's with non flat tyres, keep an eye out for some 102, 107 or 108 type wheels for the summer months and get some inter tyres on your 16's for when the temperature is less than 7 degrees!
