Impressed that the IOW gets a mention ( in between France and Germany ) - where did you go over here ? We only have one short dual carriageway that is the only road you can legally do 70mph .

Always liked the new MR2 but at my height I couldn't fit in one :(

Welcome to the Forum.

Nice looking ZC Nathan / the Mr2 may have looked OK but there can be no real comparison 8) you made a good choice

Thanks guys. Some initial observations...

It drives very different to the MR2. A lot heavier steering as expected and not as direct. The gear change is not as slick either but I think that was partly down to the mods I did to my 2. It doesn't feel as nimble. The headlights are shocking and even my 2 had projectors which were miles better.

However the build quality is very good of the BM. The power is pretty immediate. The sound of the straight 6 is lovely. The inside smells like a cow and a nice one at that. The paint is far better, might seem a strange thing to say but you can just tell it's better. It has a boot. The suggested average mpg is very good for a 3.0l however I've not been anywhere near it yet

The mods have already started  so I've adjusted the headlights up a few turns. It's made a little difference but not much. I've ordered some carbon fibre black bmw logo door pins but I'm not sure about them now I've looked at them again, some LED error free side light bulbs which look a complete pain to get to!!! Philips xtreme headlight bulbs, Bosch twin aero blades, replacement rear number plate LED clusters although the old ones seem really hard to come out :( only minor things but it's a start to making this beast even better
