Have you found the little storage tray under the steering wheel to the right hand side? That's often an overlooked one but a useful space for a phone etc.

I didn't know about this until my third (current) E89! :D

I suspect we're talking about the same thing Ronk, so you won't have found a new 'secret place' :(

Sorry, I'm hopeless at trying to explain things on a keyboard, not my bag. :headbang:

Just found out the Gear knob lights up after 5 years of ownership. In my defence, why would you ever be looking at the frellling Gear Knob. I seldom look at any thing but the Oil temp & rev counter, inside the car, when I'm driving the Zed. :driving: :D

I collect my new sDrive 35i on Tuesday so I have downloaded the pdf version of the owner's manual and, so far, read it through from cover to cover (289 pages) once. I'm aiming to read it again at least twice more before Tuesday and to make a list of anything that I want to clarify so that I can ask during the handover.
No doubt I'll also spend some time after I get it home trying out some of the features to familiarise myself with them!

My Sept 09 car doesn't have this? Maybe its newer, or an extended storage option.

What I didn't realise is that the touch panel also locks it.

- Finally, the boot. Is there any way to open it while the car is running or do you have to stop the engine, take the key out, and hold the boot button down? That's what I've been doing. There must be a better way than that....

I can't be the only one like this... can I?

DOH I didn't know the touch panel also locks it, such a plonker :headbang:

You can unlock the boot with the car running, just open the door, then press the unlock button next to the hazards. Ta da!

It's for things like this comfort access comes into its own. With key in pocket start car, get out of car, lock doors, walk up to the boot and open... basically with comfort access just keep your key in your pocket and never have to worry about what you're trying to open and what state the car is in.

I'm obviously a bit thick because when I jet wash the car, the jet wash locks and unlocks the car when you spray under the door handle. I always think to myself, that's quite irritating and the car is flashing away... but not once have I thought, I'll use that feature to lock the car with my own hands  . Strange how the mind works?! I always lock with the key.
