Ok if you don’t mind having a CAT car when finished

Looks like that one was a good buy since its already sold. Not much damage either really.

Heres one - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202105192815703?onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&model=Z4&price-from=7500&price-to=12000&colour=Black&include-delivery-option=on&sort=relevance&radius=1500&make=BMW&advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=np45xf&page=2

There are actually 2 or 3 nice black ones in Scotland advertised on A/T, best of them - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202108136182560?include-delivery-option=on&model=Z4&advertising-location=at_cars&price-to=12000&sort=relevance&radius=1500&price-from=7500&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&make=BMW&colour=Black&postcode=np45xf&page=4
Sean that 2nd one is perfect. Can’t get a day off until September but then I’ll be able to travel.
23i or dare I say 30i M-Sport manual, black preferably with red leather interior. Can be swayed by grey/red or even silver.
Pdc and a good stereo under 70k Miles if poss.

Thought it may be - talk to the guy and see if he will wait and get a refundable deposit down on it

At the risk of putting a fly in the ointment; that A/T black 23i is showing as a private sale, when "Shorty's Motorsport Sales" is clearly a dealer. I googled it just to be sure.

Just ask the guy and if he is a dealer there is more chance of a deal with a refundable deposit being left

I just googled “Shortys Motorsport Sales”

Links his Facebook Page - I’m not on Facebook - so he’s probably a small dealer.

I brought mine off a similar type I suppose. Small dealer, holds around 10 cars. But it was through AT & it was a listed company … not down as a private sale.

Chris Short, director of "Shorty's Motorsport & Sales Ltd", Cumbernauld, Glasgow. Listed company so why the private sale? Off the books sale is the only thing I can think of. Why? Mis-representation springs to mind. It isn't my money, or my car but I would run a mile just from that alone (unless he can give a bloody good reason with a phone call).

if that is misrepresentation he is pretty dumb using his clearly placed plates on the car with the company name - more than likely could be his private car or just a balls up in the ad

It certainly rings alarms for me too. Mind you, I’ve got to wait until next month for a purchase unless by luck a car that suits turns up within 100 miles. I’m not buying blind so will wait...

Never heard of them but they look like a small outfit, operating from home, selling small number similar type/budget cars.

Think the ad is a mistake rather than misinterpretation as it’s quite clearly on his business Instagram page

Ash, here’s a link to a video of the car running and roof operating

Its missing an "i" badge from one side of the car
The Z4 badge on the rear is extremely wonky
He might have gave it a clean on the inside
And what is it that is attached to the underside of the rear bumper? Possibly framework for a bike rack?

Worth a punt if you know a decent body shop, black not bad for matching, 2nd hand mirror (possibly door for ease) chance to change all wheels and got idrive, parking sensors, wind deflector

I’d have bought that if I was looking for a 23i and the CAT marker wouldn’t have bothered me as I knew what the minimal damage was. Not surprised it went quickly

I would have bought it too if I wanted a 23i when I was looking for mine, the damage on the three quarter I reckon a good PDR dent man could take it out and the door and mirror well that's easy enough. The broken wheel has me wondering though if there is any suspension damage behind it. The CAT marker wouldn't have been an issue either since I would have imported the car to Spain. If you source a second hand replacement wheel of the same type I can't see the cost of repair being more than 500€ excepting any suspension damage. I was actively looking for a such a car at the time but didn't see anything.

I see this one is now starting to drop - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304095705841?hash=item46cd843af1:g:oq0AAOSwHihg~xJ3 still not nice enough or that money based on Ash's comments

Both 23i’s would interest me, the grey one probably more so because it’s got heated seats and wind deflector. The higher mileage on a N/A i6 wouldn’t concern me if maintained properly

Grey one looks great condition and value, as you know I’m after an MSport but would be swayed if an SE is was cheap.
