Hey everyone,

The decision has been made - the Mini Cooper S JCW has been enjoyable but the time has come to experience a Z4. As this will be a weekend / 'fun' car I'm looking for an early 3.0 Roadster, ideally black with red leather (but I'm open to suggestions)! I'd like the roof motor to have been sorted and sealed if poss. Looking forward to joining the Z4 community and hopefully finding a members car to buy!

Bye bye mini. Hello Z4!

Welcome to the forum

Edit - if you dont mind an auto box and high miles, there's one for sale on here in Black with red leather

Thanks Adamski, the one for sale is certainly a stunning car - especially with all the mods, however (A) it's an auto - not in itself a problem but not the most desirable, and (B) even with the mods it's a bit on the expensive side considering the mileage - especially when compared to the car Dreamer hasjust put up (which is very tempting!). So many nice cars to choose from!

I would snap up Dreamer's if it ticks all the right boxes....

You'd get easily £1,500 quids worth of extras with it. I'm with you on the auto box, they're fine, but not for me

hello mr n . nice progression from the mini to the zed
have you tried the auto ? with 3.0 / straight 6 / 265 bhp ? in sport mode ? ?

Mini now gone - cash burning a hole in my pocket! After missing out on Dreamers car the other week i'm torn between desperately wanting ANY z4 while knowing I should really hold off till I see the 'right' one...

Thanks guys - deposit placed, car lined up..! If all is good then I hope to have it by the weekend (with pics to follow)!

i had a blonde moment, i got east and west mixed up lol, i was thinking you could have possibly been Halifax area

Well, that was disappointing. The car I put the deposit on turned out to be a total dog when delivered to the dealer. 108s would have needed a full refurb, headlights fogged, bodywork bubbling and rusty in places, bumper cracked, interior stinking of fags and extremely tired, damp carpets plus they couldn't find the service history (even though it was advertised with full dealer SH) - I don't think I need to go on...

As with a lot of dealer adverts, it certainly wasn't as described. The search goes on!

Always a disappointment when a viewing goes bad.

What kind of price range are you looking at?

Probably the too good to be true price range. It was a 53 plate 3.0 with hardtop, 67K miles with (supposedly) FBMWSH - £6,300. This was from Evans Halshaw who I wouldn't normally touch with a barge pole, however there's a bit more come back if something was to go wrong (rather than a private sale or back street garage).
