New wheels on my Z4??

I don't like those wheels with the sterling grey either.

I considered them when I went to the 203's I have now - glad I made the choice I did.

But hey if you like em, buy em

I have the M6 replicas, 19" with Eagle F1s...previously had 18" ellipsoids with runflats.

The ride is SIGNIFICANTLY better now in terms of comfort (bumps are much softer) but I lost some stiffness going in steep turns.

The wheels really look great on a titanium silver. I get alot of compliments whereas before no one said a word about the ellipsoids.

Any pics of the said car? :)

 Get some pics up!

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

:(

some rims simply don't go with certain cars - Ellipsoids go perfectly with the Zed!

19" M6 Wheels are what I have chosen to go on my Z4 when I get it. Love the style, the design makes the wheel look much bigger than it actually is.

Attached are M6 wheels on a Alpine White Z4 which does look good I must admit and also M6 wheels on a standard black roadster with stock M sport suspension. IMO I think these are the only colour z4's the M6 wheels work well on.

Many people say you do not get the 4x4 look so much with the M6 wheels due to the design, I slightly see where they are coming from but with a drop it can finish the car off perfectly.

In my opinion its the younger generation who are opting for the M6 wheels as they are a lot more in your face then other wheel designs. Hope I dont offend anyone :)

xBitlordx.......love the pics! I see it says you are in the UK yet the pics look like they are US spec cars with marker lights? :?

I think they look OK. I like them but don't love 'em. I like them the best on the black Z4. I'm just curious, but are the ellipsoids the wheels that are on the coupe pictured at the top left of the Z4-forum.com header? Those are what's on mine. I'm always trying to think of something to improve the look of anything I own and different wheels are one thing I think about changing on the Z4. I really haven't seen anything that I like enough to make me want to spend alot. I've been thinking about stripping and polishing the stock wheels (ellipsoids I think) because I think it would look good, but too much work to do 4 of them.

Your right there, your find the americans are fairly partial to the M6 wheels as well on their Z4's. Theres a thread started nearly every day on the z-post forum from an american asking for pics of M6 wheels on the Z4. I believe its a tireing topic on z-post :D I suppose the reason they could be more popular in the US is that the wheels look a lot easier to get hold of in terms of replica versions.

Its the picture from Modbargins (US website that sells BMW mods) that made many people make the decsion about the M6 wheels.

Does look stunning but car clearly has collivers which many people didnt realise. H&R springs dont even drop the car that low. So from reading up on a few threads on zpost many people who opted for the m6 wheels with standard springs were slighly dissapointed with the overall look as it didnt resemble the modbargins picture. Its amazing how a tiny drop can change the whole look of a car.

It's a shame that it has to be lowered for 19"s to look good. Thats just not an option for me.
I'd like to see some good 18" reps on a black Z4 with standard sports suspension.

Edit: what size tyres are used on 19"s? I take it the rears are still wider than the fronts but are they much lower profile than the 18"s?

I would go along with that, seems it's hard to find wheels that will look good on a black Z4.

I have no ruled out M6 reps, CSL are still so so. Might end up getting another set of 108's and refurbish them myself.

Others I have just seen are http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_details/0,,1260_159980106__,00.html?currentCh=WBABU52050LL90192 Ellipsoid-Spoke Style 202 8/8.5J x 18, but gues you could only buy new :x
