New to Z4, trouble setting up blutooth on screen

When I first got my car it wouldn't pair for love nor money (nor continuous swearing, pleading and headbanging the steering wheel) I had to go through the process of deleting all of the existing paired phones from the car's memory and then it worked first time. The process is in the book.

Can't find anything in the book about deleting previously paired phones with the car?

How do you do that?

Sorted, you where right, cleared out all previously paired phones by holding down the speech button for 15 seconds during the pairing process.

All works fine, but I'm being told by friends I'm talking to on it that it is not anywhere near as clear as my Nokia parrot in my 530.

Mine is shocking too. Everyone can hear me fine, the volume on my old Blackberry was awful. It's better on the new iPhone, but still not perfect. There are a number of updated models of Bluetooth modules in circulation, the newer ones are supposed to be much improved. I'm not going to change mine as the car's a weekend toy.

Glad it's fixed

I think the sound quality is to do with where the mic is on the top of he steering cowl. I have to lean forward sometimes to be heard, which is rubbish.

Yes, I remember the last Z4 I had 4 years ago having rubbish quality hands free; for the other person of course.

I'll take some pics of my lovely Z4 tomorrow; sun is supposed to be out in Cambridgeshire. Will post a pic or two as I'm so proud of my car. Took me a while to find the right one as my favourite colours are black and red, so I wanted a black one with red leather; nice!!

Got it working (kind of)

The 'pairing' button in e85s is the button in the centre rear console (flip it down) that looks like voice control.

Hold that down for min 3 seconds with ignition off then switch ignition position to on and "bluetooth pairing" pops up.

But... android does not work with BMW pairing very well :/ keeps disconnecting.
