new sDrive 35is

Exciting developments. Wonder if people didnt buy enough of 35i and just went ahead bought the Z4m at a bargain- with more power. SO BMW marketing 35is to match the current M. Nice future ahead i suppose. once we are out of recession( i mean proper growth and back to normalcy and less cost cutting) there will be M

Just seen the press statement

I quote "up to 500Nm of torque thanks to a 50Nm over boost function that can be activated for 7 seconds" :driving:

Price confirmed 16 December

iMotor describe it as the new M in all but name:

Can't see that myself as they are different cars in all but name.

This is interesting! "... and the exhaust now has flaps in it which open to make the engine sound more meaty."

Thought this was standard anyway! My exhaust has a flap in it already!

Probably won't know until the parts database is updated, but I would expect them to be the same thing, this just sounds like ///marketing to me.

Just received a tweet from BMWBlog saying:

BMW 3 Series and Convertible facelifts to carry the "is" name? Like 335is? We're trying to find out more. But that will be exciting

Don't think there will be much discount on this car, on the "basic" 35i there are large discounts to be had :D

Could go the same way as the Z4M but I doubt it as it probably won't cost much more to run than the standard 35i. Must admit I bought mine for a huge discount considering it was only 4 month old, especially considering the spec!! :D

I wonder, considering that tuning the bi-turbo engine is just an air intake and "chip-tune" if they will bring out an after-market kit?

Nice one.

I wonder why they never fitted an M diff, hydraulic steering and called it the Z4M, seems like they went 80% of the way then stopped :scratchhead:

Maybe there will be a V8 Z4M after all :fuelfire:

Perhaps they realise they are not really needed on the road! :fuelfire:  :P

Actually the electric assisted steering on the new Z4 is way better than the old Z4's. Much more feel.

After my test drive I agree

Speculative... seeing what all the fuss is about or something more serious? Is there something you need to share with the group Gannet?
(sorry, if you've posted before and I've missed it)
