Sometimes the thrill of the chase is more exciting than the purchase and you then get a little bit of a come down? Had it before on some other cars.. Once you have had a good blast, looked at yourself in a few shop windows... we all do that right? , and given her a full clean and wax your be a happy boy!

Got my Zed just before Xmas as an AUC (at a distance) - I'm 90% happy with it, suspect ditching the runflats will add 5%, and if the dealer sorts the other issues then maybe the remaining 5% too - it's back with the dealer now will find out next week

I always go through a period of breakdown anxiety with any newly acquired used car, even though it's always thoroughly inspected. It simply takes a while before I learn to trust it. It's totally irrational, I can't tell you the last time a car left me stranded. Despite that, I enjoyed driving it so much that I didn't regret the purchase for a second.
I hate to admit it, but near the end of the second year of ownership, I had driven it so much, I started to actually feel bored. Mostly due to the lack of a local variety of fun roads than bored with the car, but I did question if it was really worth owning. Then recently, to avoid winter conditions, I flew to a destination where I have often driven to and rented a car. I missed having the Zed so much I could barely stand it! So the romance continues, despite a rough spot.

I can't quite put my finger on it to be honest, there's a few niggles that should have been sorted before I took delivery but I'm sure that can be sorted so not sure it's them.

This forum hasn't helped! I love the car but it's more the fear of reoccurring problems discussed on these forums (e.g. roof motor going) or getting a ding in a car park - I sometimes have to remind myself to just enjoy the moment of owning my (affordable) dream car and stop worrying about what could happen!
I regret selling mine, every single day!

Yes you need to keep perspective on costs, This year I've spent £1200 having an EGR valve, front bushes, two tyres, brakes all round and a service on my 5yr old Ford, £800 on a clutch, brakes, service and tyres on my daughters 4yr old Citroen C1 ............ and £100 for a set of brakes/discs on the 9 yr old Z4 which has shut the Mrs up (lets hope I'm not tempting fate :| )

Got my 2007 2.5si in November from Astle BMW in Scunthorpe. I originally wanted Montego blue but bought a titanium silver with the right spec. Never liked silver cars but it looks great when freshly cleaned. Looks even better now I've had the wheels powder coated black chrome.
However I scared myself the second day when overtaking a lines of cars on a run to the coast. At more or less legal speed I crossed the crown of the road and the car darted straight for the kerb. I'd never known anything tramline like this thing and the ride on 18s is pretty crap as you all know. The roads in our neck of the woods are fairly diabolical. I don't live near Scunthorpe and the roads for the test drive were fairly good.
I'm leaving it on run flats until we've taken it to France for the holiday, then we'll see. We'll take it on track at Blyton Park in the spring.
Love the engine, seats, looks, general quality and the gearbox in the top 4 ratios, heated seats, stereo, boot size. The engine compartment looks great. The hood works well and road noise is well suppressed. The exhaust note is really good.
Dislike ride, tramlining, gearbox in 1st and 2nd, headlights, power output (smokers pack) that may or may not be compatible with your accessories. No dipstick - convenient but I'd like to be able to check the level properly.
On balance, I like it. Love? Not yet, though I do stand and admire it. It replaced an MX5 we bought new and kept for six months. Great on track but it always felt as though we were sitting on it not part of it like the Z4. Both of these were bought as toys.

New alloys (Old ones were replicas that I didn't know when I bought it).
New tyres
Rear discs and pads (I knew they were due when I bought them).
Front bushes needed replacing.
Fixed a leaky door and sticking wipers this weekend (although that was free).
Then it's in the bodyshop tomorrow to get rid of a dent and a bumper scuff which are just enough to annoy.
Aux cable delivered this week to finish it off - then I'm hoping it's all perfect and I can go through the summer without spending more money on it!
Either way, I still find myself staring at it with a goofy smile on my face and it's all worth it!
