Hi all, new Z4 23s arrived last Friday, had the roof down for all of an hour before sunny Bournemouth returned to a monsoon. First BMW and loving every minute so far. Two questions if anyone can please help, firstly I have the input for the iPod fitted is there a cheaper alternative to the BMW connection lead, sounds stingy but £40 seems a bit excessive, second, is the stubby aerial generally available or again only from BMW, any deterioration in sound / reception? Any input gratefully received, thanks all, love the site.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Not sure on the iPod cable... and not sure about a stubby on the new Z4 in terms of fit! This is a non BMW item. Reception is based on the region - I found mine unusable and passed it on... I think I'm the only one though!

Glad you're enjoying the car! Don't worry, good pair of gloves and hat and you'll have the roof down plenty over the next few months!

I'll start us off... how about some pics?!

Here's a link to a 'stubby' thread which is a good starter for 10 on fit and reception. No doubt those who have fitted will repond with more details on performance. £40 for a lead - yes perhaps a bit excessive but I would have negotiated for a free one as part of the deal - go back a see what they will do. join the BMW Club and most deralers will give you 10% on spares and accessories (for other Forum members please note I said most....! :P ). In any event you've just spend maga bucks on the car whats £40... Enjoy your new drive.

True, so true, think I will bite the bullet. In my own naive way I figured the lead would be included  Many thanks for the advice.
