Hi all, new Z4 23s arrived last Friday, had the roof down for all of an hour before sunny Bournemouth returned to a monsoon. First BMW and loving every minute so far. Two questions if anyone can please help, firstly I have the input for the iPod fitted is there a cheaper alternative to the BMW connection lead, sounds stingy but £40 seems a bit excessive, second, is the stubby aerial generally available or again only from BMW, any deterioration in sound / reception? Any input gratefully received, thanks all, love the site.

Not sure on the iPod cable... and not sure about a stubby on the new Z4 in terms of fit! This is a non BMW item. Reception is based on the region - I found mine unusable and passed it on... I think I'm the only one though!

Here's a link to a 'stubby' thread which is a good starter for 10 on fit and reception. No doubt those who have fitted will repond with more details on performance. £40 for a lead - yes perhaps a bit excessive but I would have negotiated for a free one as part of the deal - go back a see what they will do. join the BMW Club and most deralers will give you 10% on spares and accessories (for other Forum members please note I said most....!
