New site at the DVLA that you can check MOT's with just make and registration.

https://mot-history.net/

Shows all the passes fails, advisories, etc. and mileage so looks like a great pre purchase site to view.

Found my Jag actually failed on a sidelight bulb, was fitted and retested, passed and the centre never even told me...

Ah yes, excellent indeed.

Failure for my Golf last year ...

Reason(s) for failure
Front Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid (8.2.3)

Looks even weirder that this list was in 2010 and never made an appearance again ....

Nearside Front Upper Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)
Offside Front Upper Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)
Nearside Front wheel bearing has slight play (2.5.A.3c)

:O why would you be arsed clocking it 30k lol

There you go guys - a host of interesting stuff.

Clocked car :(

Same as you pvr - All my Z4 advisories of one year except for brake pipes and service items like tyres were not fixed as they looked good to me and vanished the following years

Amazing that there is something useful on their site for a change, but yes - excellent tool for a buyer to verify what advisories there are that have been hidden from the sales advert ...

My old X5 does not show up, I guess the new owner put a private plate on it then.

My Z doesn't show up!

Found my first car (2001 fiesta) has been clocked - why? And my second car a 2003 Mini had no advisories before it stopped getting tested in 2012 so can assume that met a swift end!

Great site

 Ha ha - my neighbours car has failed 6 times since and inc. 2009....

Given the number of faults I'm wary of him even being able to get out of our street without something breaking

Right - must get on with some real work

This is my only advisory:

Advisory notice item(s):
small stone chips front windscreen.
Under-trays fitted obscuring some underside components

What a joke. Never picked up before or after and its the same windscreen and the OEM under tray is still there.

Under tray is always mentioned as they are not allowed to remove it to check underneath. Guess to cover themselves.

But I have only ever had it mentioned once, which is what I find strange. Its been on there since new, and still is, but only once has it been an advisory.

Yes - agreed about that, but they generally mention that - they always did on my M as well.

More worrying is that reported 'issues' are never reported again. It is the same exhaust on my Golf for the last 22 years so how can it leak 4 years ago and never since, or any of the other stuff. It has been MOT-ed at the same garage as well, so not even the case that it was at different places.

different testers pick up on different things. different days affect different testers, they're only human.

I had it mentioned on my 330, not on my z4 from the same tester, both cars have undertrays fitted.

my old z4 doesn't seem to be very loved anymore :(

advisory in every one of the MOT since my ownership...
Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a ball joint (2.4.G.2)

and
offside front aluminium subframe damaged / front subframe damaged :o

since May 2014...

seems there was a gap too - NO MOT from Dec 2013 - May 2014

nice site though :D
