Hi and welcome aboard.
As a serial E86 owner I'd love to know how you are getting on with your Zupra and some photos would be good!
Thanks for the warm welcome. The Zupra is a really great car. I sold my E85 after ten years, and was waiting for the new G29 Z4. But the price point was ridiculously high for the M40 model, I didn’t even test drive it.
I did a very brief test drive of the Zupra when it first launched in late 2019, and was underwhelmed. Didn’t get much of a feel, and the sales person was so anxious about anything happening to the car, I didn’t try it much.
Later on, I was introduced to the sales manager who arranged a proper test drive, and it was so great to drive. Felt so flat and stable in the corners, and the exhaust made such fun noises. The engine was super smooth and pulled so effortlessly, i worried about whiplash. Worst thing about it was prob the huge airbag on the F30 sourced sport steering wheel.
I’m now into 1.5 years of ownership, and only clocked less than 9000km. But it’s a great daily driver - the adaptive suspension is much more comfortable compared to the E85 M sport suspension. Far less body roll too.
The most annoying part is probably dealer support. They aren’t familiar with BMW ish problems, and the customer svc don’t seem equipped to handle such complex cars. Also convoluted parts procedure where they order from Japan, who in turn order them from Germany. So twice the shipping delays.
