New Job Update (honda)

Lol.... Yes the older generation loves honda, the jazz is a favourite!

The biggest problem with the Jazz from where I live (Tunbridge Wells) is the dismal range of very peculiar colours, we have pale green, pale lilac, pale blue all toodling around here.

And why won't a Jazz do 40mph in a 40mph zone

Andi.

Popey, I might drop you a line in a couple of months with regards to bikes. What kind of deal are we talking?

I sure can, I can also do deals on VW and Seat. I can also find any used car you require.

This lad will go far :)

I've always had the best laugh with the Honda sales and service staff. Always really great folks and seem to love what they do which makes the whole buying process a dream. I've dealt with a few dealers over the country and each one was great!

Glad to hear it's going well and your enjoying it. Job satisfaction is key

Good to hear Popey. Can tell from your posts that you are really enjoying it, long may it continue.

I've had a few Hondas and i practically can not sleep with excitement about the next Type R. My last type R was the second best car I've owned from a driver involvement perspective. I've also never had a single issue with anything mechanical on any Honda I've owned.

As for the S2000. It's a proper drivers car in my opinion. The thing with it and type Rs in general is that they behave reward a driving style that displays almost zero mechanical sympathy. They take horrible abuse with ease and you need to abuse them and drive them with all out urgency to get the full effect otherwise they just feel under powered. You can't compare them to a Z4 which (with the exception of the M) are fitted with engines designed to suit Autobahn cruising saloons and therefor suit lazy driving.

Congrats on the job, a mate used to work at a Honda dealer and enjoyed it.

Interesting comments about the S2000. I've come from a S2000, previously had supercharged Z4 3.0 and now in Z4M, all weekend cars. If you're in the mood for a thrash and prepared to use all the 9000rpm's available, combined with the right road the S2000 was epic, more fun and more involving than the Zed is. It had the perfect balance of power and speed to enjoy on the open road. Felt more nimble and offered more feedback through the chassis, you always knew what it was doing, even if the steering lacked any real feel. It was however perfectly weighted and very sharp. Oh and that gearbo   ... BMW could learn a thing or two!

But when not out for a thrash and just doing normal point to point drives the S2000 wasn't quite as interesting, you suddenly remembered you were in a 2.0. The Zed does these trips much better with aural pleasure right through the rev range. I wouldn't drive the S2000 as a daily, but the Zed would be usable for sure, much more refined. All that said, it's great to be back in a big engined car, it's just a different type of fun :D

As said above, the S2000 is definitely a drivers car, still not convinced my Z4M is yet but I've not fully bonded yet, only done 1200 miles in it.

Popey, you sound like a car salesman! :driving:
Motorbikes, Honda, VW, Seat, you're on fire :fuelfire:

Good luck mate and sell sell sell

In a straight line yeah of course it does, despite the 200kg advantage the S2000 has it's still 100bhp down on the ///M. But that doesn't make the Zed anymore more rewarding or fun to drive in comparison.

When I had my s2000 it felt like a bit of a classic compared with the zed, lovely car but just not for me
I think you should really know know how to drive to get full enjoyment of an s2k
Plus insurance was twice the pice
