New Group Buy - BB ByPass System 3.2M 3.0Etc - NEW VIDS PG 8

i did mine too and really happy with it, although if i did it again id get slightly wider pipes made up to give a bit more noise

I've had mine for about a year now am am pretty happy but wonder if wider pipes would have been better as sometimes feel its a but too subtle on my 3.0 si

Just had the mod done to the car and it sounds great, more 'bassy' and it sounds like the car should have sounded like from the beginning to be honest.

Used these guys to fit it:

http://www.exhaustafix.co.uk/

Would definitely recommend, very quick and efficient and none too pricey.

I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a more robust exhaust noise.

Yep, its a great mod! Glad that you like it! Did you use 3/4 or 1" pipes in the end ?

I went for 3/4 Darren. I figured anything else might be a bit too much. I was worried I'd have to drive the car wearing a balaclava if it sounded like some chav chariot!

Good call :D

I guess these aren't still available but wondering if someone could let me have the dimensions for the z4m so I could have some made up or point me in the direction of someone who may be able to help me out around the basildon area?

They are still available mate. Just call warren engineering and order the pipes. Their number is 01684298000.

Don't forget to mention the z4 forum when ordering.

And one last thing. If you want to keep your exhaust as it is and have the mod applied to a spare OEM exhaust, I have one for sale here :D

Thanks.

As much as like the idea of swapping the exhaust over so I have a standard one as well I think that's going to be a bit extreme in terms of cost! :)

It was worth a shot though :D

So what's everyone's updated thoughts on these then??

Is it still a worthy upgrade?

I just emailed Warren engineering today to see if they still made them and how much?

Updated price is £20/pair + £12 delivery + VAT.

They come in two sizes - 360mm centres & 410mm centres.

I like the idea of a bit more theatre without the drone at motorways speeds.

Anyone else thinking about this?

I'm also thinking about it, but I'm thinking it may be difficult to find a garage which will do the fitting.

Andrew.

Any garage that has a drill and a mig welder will be able to do this for you, the hardest part is removing the nuts/bolts that hold your rear boxes on, pretty straight forward after that

Any maybe finding one that has some exhaust clamps/sleeves for when they inevitably have to cut off the rear section, as the BMW rear clamps have merged into one unit

My local garage did it no problems. They just asked for a copy of the pictures posted on here and got the jist of what was needed. Bit of simple drilling and welding they said when they finished.

I think I must have had them nearly a year and I'm still pleased. There's just a little extra boom moving up past 2000rpm that could be tiresome at a constant speed but 75mph on the motorway on the ///M is closer to 3000rpm so it never bothers me.
