Hi there, thanks for the link which I am sure I will be carrying out as part of preventive maintenance since the car is 13+yrs old!
In my case, the rain sensor was acting wonky as the adhesive patch had air bubbles trapped underneath it, likely from when my solar film was installed on the windscreen. Pushed them out with a credit card, tested the sensor patch area with splashes of water and the wipers are functioning a-ok now
For those whose adhesive patches cannot be salvaged, you can buy new ones for GBP2.95 here:

Decided to install the OEM clip-on wind blocker (only the center portion between the roll hoops) and bought a set from Ray off eBay who was a pleasure to deal with:

The roof motor boot relocation project is definitely something I will be carrying out but will need to familiarize myself with the car further. I gather you have an E85 as well? Glad to see another MY-plate Zee here as well!
Yup, brought the car back from UK 2 years ago. We actually got quite an active z4 whatsapp group here. Will be more than happy to invite you in if you want. Allot of local info and knowledge in there.
Well, my starter motor decided to suddenly and abruptly kick the bucket, stranding the car 5 storeys up which a tow truck could not enter. This necessitated an in situ repair which was carried out partially by me with the help of my regular mechanic on house call :-D

Had to buy a Torx socket set to work on the Zee :-/
No problem with the upper E10 mounting bolt but the bottom one was a bugbear which needed the mechanic help to break torque:
Original starter is made by Denso. Replacement is a Bosch unit:
Whole job took around 1hr from to complete. Car fired up on the first crank and am a happy camper.

Been suffering from some wind noise coming from the seal between the rubber moulding of the soft top and the door glass. Did some reading and this excellent guide came up:

Finally the gear console trim arrived and took time to replace the old one which had some paint bubbling likely due to when the EC rear mirror leaked during previous ownership tenure:
Cleaned up the dust and dirt accumulated under the trim panels as much as possible without removing the center console:
Added piece of felt strip on the bottom below the handbrake to protect the trim from incidental scratches from coins, phone etc.:

Finally carried out our roof motor relocation. Used the following guides to assist in the process which still took us 3hrs due to our fumbling/bumbling around

Replaced the Tyco relays with new units to solve the unlocking issue that was sporadically getting worse as time went by:
This was one of the most painful jobs ever undertaken. The thick conformal coating had to be scrapped off before using a soldering iron and the working area was really small and confined. In the end, I had to get a professional to help finish the work as I was worried I would have damaged the board if I had continued on:

This looks like one of the tidiest roof relocation set-ups I've seen! Good job!
