Evening folks,

Left the house at half 9 this morning journeying over to Suffolk/Norfolk border by train, returning home at 5pm with this lovely example of an E89:

Thanks to everyone who helped me navigate some initial questions and queries prior to ownership (https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=133342). The journey home was smooth and comfortable, and pleasantly absent of stuff going wrong... the only thing I could notice awry was one of the number-plate lights needs replacing, which is interesting given it was MOT'd yesterday by the car dealer I bought it from!

I suspect this weekend will involve some obligatory car detailing with a bit of attention directed towards the rubber window seals which look a little faded. I'll be checking her into my local BMW Specialist (https://www.munichpower.co.uk/) for a once over, and in parallel I'll be giving some thought as to how I can extract a better exhaust note from the N52B30 up front :D

Your new car looks great and it has the best engine but then I would say that now wouldn't I? I am looking at exhausts too, I am looking at the Supersprint, having seen some vids on YouTube the super sprint sounds good to me, others worth looking at are Remus or for somewhat more money Eissenman. :D

Good to know you found one that hopefully Mrs makeshiftuk also likes.

And it almost matches your car - what a great 2 car drive.

Looks lovely, the colour suits it very well. I’d have a G29 in that colour if they did one.

Hope the Mrs likes it

Congratulations on finding what looks like a great e89, I’m sure your better half will love it and she’ll even let you take it out for a drive again if you treat her well

Thank you for all the kind comments - Mrs.Makeshift has been out with the car on two consecutive evenings now after dark, with the roof down of course! This one feels like a keeper for her, and dare I say it she'll find it easier to park and maneuver being almost a metre shorter than our 4-door saloon.

Oh, is that the one from the Ford Dealer by the railway crossing in Stowmarket?
It was the one up for sale at Binks of Beccles, not far from Stowmarket by the looks of Google maps.

Three interesting cars you have there now.
...and all in grey, which may have been by design :) Our E39 is looking a bit sorry for itself having been relegated to street parking once more, but still has it's place and will continue to keep it running until it finally succumbs to the dreaded tin worm.
