Why oh why oh why do Porsche make everything on the inside the same colour, if you choose a red leather seats, you get red everything including the steering wheel. This is probably the only car where a black interior would be my preferred choice.

The more I look at the photos the more I agree with gannet

You have to select the two tone option to get that separated. I spent ages on the configuration to get a decent combo rather than just black / black or everything red or cream etc.

Had a look at the configurator on the Porsche website and your right, that's just shocking as the interior in all one colour looks awful, think I would have to get black interior and get the seats re-upholstered in red.

I like it... In fact I love the looks of it. :D

I thought I also read somewhere they now come with a 3 year warranty?

Wouldn't factory order a new one, but maybe in 18 months time...?

The 991 does so I'd think the new Boxter should as well

What's with putting P O R S C H E across the back of all of their models. I H A T E it, they never used to. Ruins the look IMO. Someone tell me there is a de-badging option?

Aside from the front headlights (which look odd) I quite like it.

Kryton, starting to really appeal to me! 8)

I actually like the P O R S C H E lettering across the back. It means you can read it clearer from further away... a sort of safety feature. :P

Especially if "Porsche" were spelt "Knob" as a warning to others... :P :poke:

They had obviously seen it on the back of a Crossfire and thought, hey that looks cool, we'll have some of thaaaat

Hmmm, that's given me an idea to space out the Z4 lettering:

:?

Does yours have the 20" Carerra Classic wheels, Kryton?

I had a quick go on the configurator and managed to get my theoretical Boxster up to £45K

Actually quite tempted by the red roof This just looks stunning...

Yes 20" Carrera Classic wheels are standard on the S, size 8.5" front and 11" rear, as below.

And the week's are counting down :driving:

The basic Carrera has 19" wheels

That is mine, except for the colour :) Had the home approval, just need to convince myself that 90k is really what I want to spend on it ...

Hands off. This one is mine. :P :driving:

Ok, the Boxster has the 20" Carerra Classic wheels in the pic, whereas Krytons has the Carerra S wheels (Y-style, also 20").

Everyone is entitled to spend their cash as they wish but I must admit I struggle with the pricing of the 991. A half decent spec and you're into the 90's. That seems £10-15k too much to me, especially in the current economic climate. It will be interesting to see what the residuals are like 12 months post-launch. I suspect not quite as bomb-proof as other 911 generations might have been.

I know the Nissan GTR doesn't have the badge snobbery but it will absolutely monster the new 991. It wouldn't even see which way the GTR went. All for £75k. You have to hand it to Nissan, it's an incredible car for the cash.

You could also just about get something like a Jag XKRS - will be a lot rarer, looks fab, quicker and more powerful.

As for the Boxster - that picture with the red roof and silver paint looks lovely.

Alright, so I'll admit it, that does look really quite nice even with the silly rear light stripes (dammit!)

Hence me saying that I have to convince myself of it as well, as my view is the same. I might look at the pricing for 12 months or so to see what happens as I don't want to spend that and find that it is worth 65 or so after a year.

I think that's very wise PVR. I do understand your dilemma though because it's a gorgeous bloody thing !

Okay, so after slating this I am now very much liking sars' creation

The only conclusion I can reach about my change of mind is that Porsche has no women in their design or (more importantly) marketing departments. Or German women have no taste whatsoever...
