That coupe looks low for standard springs Andy....

Front end same cars & the coupe is on standard springs but 20mm spacers on rear/10mm front

Widen the stance fills the arches which in turn can give a lowered appearance :?
Pics also can make a car look high or low
2 pics of my car / one shows arch gap over tyre as Crackers , others like its on Eibachs :?
I personally wouldn't want to alter the way my car handles, feels or drives , maybe the upcoming french jaunt will enable opportunity for a dabble with other members cars & maybe there will be differences ?
Stance looks fine to me ? In fact any lower & i would not be happy :o

Could do with lowering ?

Its personal choice isnt it,and what looks good to the owners eye..

i have lowered all my Z4M's and my 3.0 coupe and i think (to my eye) it looks better... They actually ride better too as the OEM spring rate is way too hard, the coil spring wire diameter is huge for such a small car...It offers no compliance at all........

IMHO of course...

My coupe was standard height when i bought it........i didnt like the arch gap at all...

Wheels look nice cracker, and if you're not fond of the tyres they're only a few committed drifts away from needing to be changed!

However. I always thought the tyre sizing should be as follows if you want to maintain the same rolling radius front to rear.

225/45/18 and 255/40/18 Standard z4m

225/40/19 and 255/35/19 E46m3 - Near as dammit the same rolling radius as z4m standard

235/35/19 and 265/30/19 CSL - Smaller rolling radius than above. Theoretically a little better acceleration but with reduced comfort

I'm sure there might be other workable alternatives but these are the typical sizes used for the M. of course they're a largely personal thing tyres but these should suffice for most.

Whilst we're here, does anyone have any pictures of a z4 running the standard m3 sized tyres all round?

Here you go 225/40 19 and 255/35 19 on my CS rims (so 8" and 9 1/2"). I found the ride to be not so far off the ride on the oem 18s. My car on the right here with eibach springs compared to a stock on the left.

cheers tom.

Looks pretty decent, i was wondering if the extra shoulder height would make it look a little over tyred but it seems pretty good in that respect. Probably a better solution for those who don't want to or can't lower the car.
