New battery time

On my 2007 Coupe , I still have the original battery fitted, so nearly 11 years old now. The car still starts ok but putting a battery tester on and it says its low, which i'd expected, given its age.

Rather than risk getting caught out some time, i am going to change it now. When removing the original battery, am i likely to get issues, say with the radio or anything else? Or is just a case of remove and refit new, and just reset the clock?

Also, had a brief look online, regarding what battery to actually purchase. Was thinking about getting a Bosch S5 that ECP/CPFL recommend but it doesnt seem that powerful- 62ah

Tanya seem to only offer one choice, which is an Enduroline (think its their own battery) but this is more powerful than the Bosch- its 95ah and 780cca! It comes with a 4 year guarantee instead of 5 on the Bosch.
Anyone got one fitted? Pleased with its performance?

Hi, I had to reset the one touch window operation after changing the battery on my e85-apart from resetting the clock i think that was the only issue.

I can’t remember what the specific model is but a number of people here use Varta batteries.

As for the resets it’s pretty much what Rob said - windows, clock and off you go.

Probably a good idea to do it before we get to the winter - the battery on my 56 plate died last December.

As the car was with my Indy for a diagnostic check when it happened I didn't change it, so no issues! He put and OEM one in (apparently they're Exide) and it's rated at 70Ah.

I think the original E85/6 batteries are 80AH, but 70ah is fine, its basically means if you leave your lights on, it will die slightly quicker :D

There are a number of Type 096 batteries (the type fitted in the Z4C) listed on the Tayna website - https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/types/096/

I bought a battery from them recently and found their service to be excellent.

Just as well I always leave the auto lights function on then! :)

Varta and Bosche are the same company, same factories under VB Autobatterie of Germany - same batteries. The stickers and marketing differ but not much else.
