New Battery - Recommendations?

wow, optima is heavier than stock??

azroadie, i agree with Curtis ... depending on what you are using your car for I doubt it will make THAT much of a difference. but of course, lighter is usually better

corner weighting is such a complicated science when you really get into it ... i mean, the whole point of corner weighting is to improve lap times ... then depending on the track, you might want a bias to one side or the other ... for example, nascar ... if you are always turning left, you set it different than a track with equal left and right turns ... if you really want to get technical, you are supposed to corner weight the car with the driver in it and depending on whether the driver just took a dump or not ... :P

but Curtis did do a rite up b4 about how "off" bimmer's claim is to 50/50 weight distribution and yup, with stock suspension, you are doing some major nose dives and squatting

all in all, the weight thing is pretty irrelevant to the average driver who probably doesn't push their car anywhere near its limits anyways :driving:

I forgot to mention that, you always cornerweight the car with the driver in it or an equivelent weight in the drivers seat. Half a tank of fuel is the norm also, that way it's not at either extreme.

I just had a thought about a good method of weight saving and compensating for a lighter battery in the rear, empty out the washer bottle until there's only about a litre in it and just top it up more regularily!

another idea ... always do your #1 and #2 in the john before going for a drive ... :P

of course, carrying less "crap" in the car helps too ... like having 30 CDs in the car, while you only listen to 1 or 2 for the entire week and stuff like that can add up to at least as much weight as the battery

but yah, make sure you go pee b4 you drive, adds 10 hp to the car!! jk
