New 6 series... It's just not nice

Agree totally, the coupe looks much better. Not as distinctive as the old model though.
It's funny how it's all down to taste and personal opinion.
I thought the last 6 was very odd looking and particularly the rear. This one is much more resolved IMO.

The 6 was always built to be a coupe in my opinion, starting with my E24. All roadster versions have always been bad to me, this model is a small improvement on the last in my opinion (for the coupe).

They've softened the rear end but it still looks ugly. :thumbsdown:

Agreed in pics, but seen quite a few on the road now & think it has a great presence.

Undecided on the exterior of the 6, but generally the coupe looks better... I have to say interior is gorgeous, and for me that's where BMW have really leapt forward in terms of design. I used to really dislike BMWs because of their functional slabs for dashboards and bland plastics, but they have taken the exterior cues and lines and done a great job of combining the 'flow' of these with much more thought-through use of varied but complimentary materials. IMHO, of course.
There are a lot of E85/86 owners on here Tom and the old 6 was much closer in style to those cars than the new one is. That might explain it. Otherwise I'm at a loss !
I can see where you coming from, the E85/6 were stunning fresh designs as was the previous 5 series but they were both slated for their looks. BMW and many other car makers have as a result withdrawn into their shells and only appear to be churning out similar dull indentikit cars.tomscott said:
