Hey everyone,
I'm just coming onto this forum to spend some of my free time reading and learning as much about my car as possible. A little about myself, I'm a 21 year old from California. I love 2 seater sports cars, and after landing my career decided it was time to sell my 1991 Mazda Miata (in pretty bad condition) and step up to the Z4! It's a 2003 model, 3.0i. I've put about 500 miles on the thing and it seems to be in good order. I did have the Service Engine Soon light just kick on, and a local mechanic and friend of mine said he's somewhat familiar with the Z4 and he'd take a look this Tuesday, and if it's anything he's not familiar with he won't charge me and I'll just take it down to a Dealer. After the light came on, I started paying real close attention to the engine sounds and I notice a very faint rattle at 1750 rpms.
I'm being optimistic about it and hoping that some light work is gonna fix it for less then 200 USD or so, and that'll be the last of my service engine light woes for at least 5 thousand more miles. The car has a couple faint scratches. Wheels have some light chips. Everything seems to function properly. Automatic top, cruise control, and power seats are some of the options that I think are optional (maybe not for the 3.0i). Had a little below 91k miles on it when I bought it, and I paid 13,888 USD, much cheaper than any other Z4 I could find used, and this one seemed to have more options. What do you all think? Good buy for the price? Thanks for you input, I look forward to conversing with you all.
