Regarding when you had x5 wheels fitted previous was that on standard suspension

That was on KW V2's.

Slightly different design to the suspension on the BC's mean that even with a 10mm spacer on the front, they foul the adjuster given my current preload/height settings.

I've got bc coilovers on my mx5 and the ride quality and handling is awesome I wouldn't hesitate to fit them to the z4. It's good to see someone who has them fitted rate them though.

The spacer/clearance issue is in relation to my x5 wheels. A 12mm spacer would allow the wheel to clear the adjuster on the front.

I'm unsure if a set of 108's would fit without the spacers given I had fitted them prior to the BC suspension.

hi, with my z4 3.0 M chassis and 108 wheels, i use 2 x 16mm front, and 2x20mm rear:

Mine are on fully soft on the rear and about 1 turn back from fully hard on the front. That's what seems to work best with my bags, might be different with springs. Took me a few month to be happy with it

Thanks I appreciate that as I've seen how good your coupe looks. I've just retired the coupe as daily driver as I've done 12k miles in 8 months in it so while it's only on 57k miles I thought I'd stop using it and turn it into a show queen. Keep up the good work with both your cars.

I love the idea of that! Is the mx5 going to be serving as the daily then?

Also...another update.

The plans and order have been placed to get the audio side of things looking a little better.

Some of the equipment will be picked up on Friday and it will all be offered up to go from there!

Given how I've always suggested simple upgrades for everyone who wanted a basic upgrade, I've gone for the same myself.

One three channel amplifier running the whole system and pair of 6.5" 2 way components.

I'm still yet to pick up a subwoofer owing to not finding something I want and am negotiating a processor to help me get the most out of the equipment.

May I suggest the jl audio micro 8 sub it's tiny so takes up little space but sounds good. Excuse the mess I just chucked it in to see how it fitted

I ended up with the 7/8. I think I've also just got them to ride comfortably too so maybe, just maybe they'd be manageable for daily use.

Don't suppose you know the settings do you ? like how many clicks hard or soft ?
Also I was wondering on the rear settings do you adjust the ride height with the shock and then have to mess about with the spring to get it just right ?

The static ride height is all on the spring and the amount of preload you put on it. If you have to screw it down too much for what you want then you lose effective travel and should buy a harder spring. Shouldn't be necessary though as the kit is designed for the car.

Damping affects dynamic behaviour so will alter how much wheel travel you get on the move. Too stiff and the wheel won't follow the road, which is often bumpy. Too soft and you'll bottom out or rebound more than one cycle. Too stiff on the rebound and it'll successively pack down over bumps reducing travel each time. Depends whether you have independent adjustment, linked or just rebound.
