Hi there

Please help me and tell me how to pass/send a cable (of a rear camera) from the trunk to the Front here the radio is located.

Thank you so much

The easier but longer way is to follow the loom wires from the trunk, along the respective sills under the carpet. Need to remove trunk carpet, subwoofer grilles/cubbies, sill trim, footwell top and side panels, air vents and then radio. You can go either side of the car. Newtis is your friend to see where all of the clips and screws are for each piece.

Alternative you can remove the transmission tunnel and rear central trim and run through the centre of the car. This video makes it look easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkj6WF7SPsQ, however I'm assured it's much harder. They also miss 2 screws which are under the central storage door and hard to access. Again, newtis is you friend here, and there are a number of useful threads in the how to section of the forum https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=26

Good luck!

Yup thats the best,

If you the speaker cover on the left side, you will see the cables going into the trunk.. if you want to hide cable, take off the center console.
I took the center console because I had peeling issue and decided to repaint it.. Some people hide the cable along the weather strip along the door.

Good luck

I’ve done this without removing any major trim parts. Must be more than 10 years ago, but from memory this quick and dirty approach took less than an hour...
First, open some of the easier panels for visibility:
- Remove ash tray, the screw under it and pull up the center console module (with roof control buttons etc)
- In front of that, remove the access panel under center of dash
- Pull up the leather gear stick boot
- From the trunk/boot, remove carpet to access the hole behind of the storage shelf.
- Then use a nylon cable puller (used by elecricians to feed cables inside walls, e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DTN10-Fl...627747?hash=item235073e463:g:8eIAAOSwZqZZ69Ld), from rear under the storage shelf, on either side of the gear stick, under the ash tray area amd finally behind the radio.

I've mentioned something like this before, and I think you are right. Also I would remove the rear storage cubby tray (it just pops out) and also lift the handbrake boot and trim forward of that. If it were me, I'd also remove the plastic trim around the gear shift (that houses the warning switch) With these items removed, you should be able to guide a cable puller through without much hassle.
