I am looking for a replacement car - it is my Citeron Synergie MPV - poor thing is on its last legs.
It needs to have a similar load capacity - you can take all the seats out which makes it massive. I can have something a bit smaller, but need to be able to easily mount bikes to the rear or roof.
The problem with things like the X5 is the inability to take the seats out - we normally only need two seats, but there are occassions i do need extra seats, so i do need the ability to put them back in easily.
Got a dog and we take him on bike rides (before anyone thinks we have the world cleverest dog that can ride a bike, no he runs we ride
) which is the main reason for this car and we go camping and i like luxury so we take a lot of stuff. Oh the dog likes plenty of room, he has very long legs. All our other cars are two seaters so this has to be a real multipurpose work horse.
Age do not mind - engine size/power does not have to be great as long as it can get up hills fully loaded with out too much strain. I would like 30mpg plus - petrol diesel not really bothered.
Money depends - up to £6k, though will spend £15k if it is something nice as i will part ex my audi tt which is currently my winter car with 4wd. Want something like the synergies load capacity and the sliding doors are great, but wants something that looks better especially if i am going to get rid of the Audi and use this as my daily winter drive. Might go higher and buy new as i can use the synergie for the scrapage allowance which would save £2000.
Anyone got any thoughts - looked at the Mitisbishi L2OO double cab and nissan navaro - but not enough room in the rear seats for the dog, also the shogun but again seat removal is a problem, they do even lay completely flat and the spare on the back means problems with a bike carrier. Thought about a grand vogayer but they are a bit boring. Love the toyota hi lux surf but they stopped making them a while ago and look a little dated, but could live with that if i could get a newer one.
