Need a bigger drive!

A friend who also has the N46 is exactly the same, so i dont worry anymore, i just degrease them occasionally. Perhaps you might get to the bottom of it and let us know.

Given that the electrical connectors are exposed and that most degreasers say to rinse off with water, what do you use to degrease yours?
Is it simpler to remove them, then degrease while they're out of the way?

I just spray on WYNNS engine degreaser, leave on while i wash the zed, then just rinse off when hosing down mate.

Time for the next random question to the knowledgeable:
Is it conceivable that a GM5 module which is playing up may also be the source for a battery drain?
While I was tinkering around removing the glove-box to clean it out the other day I noticed an occasional electrical buzz which seemed to emanate from the GM5 area.
Then tonight the battery is flat.
I am starting to lean towards breaking this car if I can't nail down the issues.

If youre not planning on driving it for a while mate, charge the battery, disconnect the GM5 and see if the battery drain stops. At least it would eliminate that possibility. Just a thought.

Hmmm. Just received a phone call from a chap who is after a few spares.
Sad to say I am now thinking I'll break this one after all.
Still a battle going on between heart and head at the moment.

Yup, decision made, with a heavy heart.
I will say though that it has opened my eyes to the 4-pots. they are a different beast but fun in their own way.
I wouldn't say no to another.

Once you are down to the bare shell we can go to Pondy's house with it and swap it out overnight with whatever he has on his drive. Chances are he either won't notice, or just think he bought another car.
