Nearly Carjacked

Bloody hell, glad to hear your missus is OK!

Sounds like she did brilliant in figuring out what they might be doing, and just as well for that empty space. A reminder to all of us with half-decent cars that UK society has some complete arseholes propping up the bottom end...

Mrs CJ is just fine because in reality nothing happened, if you see what I mean. People watched her, followed her in and out of a shop and drove their car to block her in. She drove off and they tried to pursue, but she'd clocked their intentions and was off. Of course it spooked her as you can be as ready as you like for this stuff until the moment it happens..

I talked to her in more detail and they were chancers. Seems she moved from one side of the mall to the other and must have seen her then. See a woman in a sports car and they think 'we'll have a slice of that' be it grabbing her bag, taking the car, etc. If they were pros the car would be long gone with the car.

Strangely I think she's well equipped for this as having 2 young daughters who both drive she is acutely aware of the dangers of single gals driving and the various precautions needed.

Ah well no harm really done, but had she been harmed, that is unthinkable, or the car lost I'd be distraught, even though in reality it's worth nothing more than the time and effort I've put into modding it.

Crikey CJ, that's a terrible thing to happen. My Mrs would have gone to pieces if faced with that, Mrs CJ is clearly a toughie. Some clear thinking and not an insignificant amount of bravery got her out trouble. You must be proud, I hope you bought her some flowers, cooked her a nice meal, and gave her a big hug. :D
 
Yup, glad it's all OK in the end. Maybe you need to turn your attention to designing a "how to" on fitting those mad flame throwers that they have in South Africa. That would be the mod to end all mods and something that not even Andy Sixspeed has done yet!

Seriously, glad it never transpired into anything more.

Get out of here. No showing signs of weakness like that or she'll be off on a spending spree, looking for a holiday or some room decorating.... :)

She is a tough cookie though. Tallish, slim and heavily into body combat, training and fitness. I'd not want to really upset her.

Where does she train?
 
Seems she reacted very quickly as to what was going on, some women would have just s**t themselves in that situation and the ending could have been bad. Well done Mrs CJ :thumbsup: :drinkwine:

That's cool Breaker

Pretty much lives in Esporta. Attends classes in various things, then some training on cross trainer for endurance. Throws light weights around for hours. I have no idea how she manages 3 to 4 hours per session and 3 to 4 times per week. At a good age let's say, she has a shape that is the envy of many, carries IIRC 8% body fat. Seems 30 years married to me has not dulled her enthusiasm....Love her to bits :D

Owning a gym and running most Les Mills systems and my wife being an instructor in Pump and Combat i can safely say Combat is no self defense...... They even tell you to say that to new customers.

On a darker note glad your wife didn't have to get out the car and perform her combat rountine on some people who could be carrying weapons.

Coming a bit late here - but CJ that sounded nasty, but good to hear she seems to have taken it pretty well.

You must have warned her though, as the last time she was followed home was by me :roll:

Your dead right there! Body Combat is a workout using martial arts moves, not a martial art. Done a few martial arts over the years, but the martial art I am qualified to teach is Taekwondo. 23 years with 11 years teaching my own clubs. Mainly teach fitness classes, Body Combat, RPM/Spin, Body Balance and circuits now though. :)

Ive read about attempted car jackings in neighbouring Tamworth, mostly around Ventura retail park, so am always on my guard whenever i go there.
Like you say its easy to sit here and say id have done this or done that, but in the heat of the moment its totally different.
 
Scarey stuff, the women in your household seem to be a lot more headstrong than in mine :| I'd hate to be in that situation myself.
Lucky that parking space was free and Mrs CJ isn't afriad of putting the foot down when needed :thumbsup:

That's exactly where she was, but I didn't want to condemn the whole of Tamworth.... :thumbsup:
 
just catching up with this. Glad to hear all ended ok but very worrying indeed. Sounds like Mrs CJ had swift reactions and was lucky.
Agree with comments about always being aware of your situation, leaving spaces, locking doors etc. I would expect the police not to be interested as they would say no actual crime was committed.
Mental note to self to avoid said retail park in future.
 
Glad to here the good lady is OK pisses me off the scum out there.

Bloke in my Local had an attemted Car Jack a few years ago they waited till he slowed for a speed ramp on a road near me he took a punch in the face but got away.
