Hi Craig
Couldn't make the National meet last year, but definitely this one. Will message you.

Regarding NC500, please accept my sincere apologies but we can no longer make it. I'd arranged this with James as a treat for the end of his GCSE's, however when we looked at his timetable there were exams missing. I've just spoken to his school and they have made a mistake, and unfortunately he has exams either side of the NC500 dates :headbang: Gutted. We did it together last March and said we'd have to again. To be part of a Z4 convoy would have been epic.

That's a pity,Tony.
As said, was purely waiting for pompeypunkrock to get back to me,which they haven't,so if they weren't going to(as they had their name down before yourself),then the last room was all yours.
Shame you can't make it now though :driving:

What a great day driving some bits of the road we will be doing in May. Glorious weather and very little other traffic. Really wetted the appetite. Roads were good in the main as well with the mild winter we have had.

Nothing should slow you down - even on the roads with passing places, you could probably pass between a parked Z4 and an oncoming motorhome :P

Although my New Year Resolution is to not go 'off road' to avoid oncoming motorhomes this year - it cost me almost £2k in repairs last time.

No that is what I replaced the M Coupe with after the accident along with a wee daily for going back and forth to work in.

My Zed isn’t doing any touring this year

Oh no!!

How is the 7? I am looking at hiring one from 7Ecosse in crieff for a day (which is also orange lol)

Great fun. Everything is basic with no frills. Steering is like a go cart, brakes require a plentiful shove, everything feels so alive and with your being so low down the sensation of speed is great even you are not going fast.

I would recommend having a go. I think touring is going to be more tiring than in the Zed but the 25l tank doesn’t last that long anyway so you get a breaks! :D

I used to hire a 140/150bhp Caterham Roadsport/R300 when I got fed up with (or couldn't afford to run) the e34 M5.

Even the 'small' power Caterhams would absolutely boss everything on most track - and only lose out on anything with a decent straight (Silverstone particularly) - when the lack of aerodynamics would kick in.

I think my favourite was the CSR260 - although the R500 EVO was an absolute mentalist - as I couldn't really justify the huge increase in rental costs for the R500 over the R300 or CSR.

Mine has the ST170 engine so if I haven’t lost any (likely) comparable to the 300. Good hobby car as well as always something to do!
