Baby sick and poo will make a terrible mess of those lovely leather seats Craig.

Congratulations mate! Made up for you both
Thanks mate

Yes,but it won't be the leather in the z,lol....
Will be one of the following (when my Wife makes her mind up,haha)....X4 30d Msport,Golf R/Golf R estate,330/330d Tourer,Merc Cla sport tourer.
So many possible choices that don't compromise on style and performance, lol.

Baby will be getting to know about cars at an early age :D

Yes,sleepless nights ahead...no difference from now then,haha.
Just the dirty Nappies, etc to add to the mix :(

On another note, loving your new car...pity I didn't get time to go for a wee blast in it ...maybe in the future :driving:
Good choice,mate.

Thanks Craig and John for organising. I had a great time and all the younger lads I brought along did too.

Congrats on the new arrival Craig, likely to prevent you from S/C'ing your M for a decade or so, however!

Tony/mmm--five: we're going to need an underbonnet shot of that Alfa please - my pals Chris and Ben were following you most of the time on Saturday - you've just put your "spare" S54 engine under there haven't you? Might be worth swapping the suspension, too, whilst you're at it...love to be a passenger with you one day (not necessarily in the Alfa)! :driving:
Nice to see you all and to see you again for those I've met before - great experience this National meet with some breathtaking roads in the vicinity.

The Alfa is completely standard so far (115bhp 1.9 8v), and the only things I've done to it are to properly service it (cambelt, water pump, tensioner, EGR valve), replace the discs & pads all round (OE-spec Pagid - £200), fit some decent rubber (Michelin Cross-Climate tyres - £300), and replace the collapsed rear suspension (with OEM stuff - £400).

I think most of my speed came from not really caring if I understeered through a corner, drove into a bush/wall/pothole, or launched & bottomed-out over a crest. I also had to keep it between 2250 and 3500rpm to make any progress, so pulling away from junctions needed lots of gears to keep up and then I needed to maintain good momentum. I quite liked the soft suspension as it soaked up a lot of punishment and settled quite nicely once you'd loaded it up - usually by turning into corners a bit early and leaning on it. The seats also hold you in better than the Z4's :P

I'd tend to take a bit more care with the Z.

I think being a Mad F*cker helps you a lot Tony. :D

This is it. Lovely!

Damn it! Was looking at that one! Lovely car!!

You looking at 35i/is Tom? Great looking cars and feels like a coupe with the roof up. Bargain prices as well at present. Very quick with the DCT box and tuneable as well.

After a weekend on the National Meet roads it was fine if not as focussed as the Z4M. On rough roads I could feel the extra weight. Binning the run flats and lowering the car 10mm might help though.

Loving the car very much though.

Ye I am! I need something to commute in and have some fun on the weekend so thought it was a good compromise! That one you bought is by far the best one that was for sale such amazing value for money congrats! There is a twin of that car for the same price with about 20k more on it. Glad you enjoyed it on the meet does concern me a little that they aren't quite as involving but I'm yet to test drive one, I did test drive a 35IS about 3 years ago but need to have another go. But like you say I think with a couple of subtle changes they can be really great alternatives to the M with a bit more MPG for the commute!

Hope your well and thanks for the advice!

Yeh, congrats to you both Craig. House full of baby stuff. I can relate to that though as we recently became grandparents
See you next year.
Paul

Just a few shoots......

Usual local who thinks he has a Z4 :x

I followed this little panda for a while. I thought he did very well indeed considering the obvious handicap.

Zedward looking a bit down, he didn't do much in the way of publicity and fund raising

Pete,he raised some money at Breakfast (£5) in the Hotel, and I took him to Largs tonight(pics to follow when. Get a spare minute), and a couple of people gave via the website, justgiving page, while a couple of others gave me £10 each, which I will add to mine and the other money, before I pas him on
