I think I would've had a little tear in my eye.

My tip for the stitching is use a cotton bud dipped in/wet with your preferred cleaner.

Thanks for that tip - On holiday with Das Auto in Germany and as I normally get attacked by bighting things, I've been splashing the stuff on!
Its only by good luck that I haven't had shorts on.

Sponge. I don't have the air brush kit. TBH its left a different texture as you'd expect with the sponge. But its hardly noticeable. I'll get someone to buy me a new arm rest for Christmas :rofl:
 
To be honest that repair stuff you've used had made a miraculous difference, I was expecting the armrest was ready for the bin but I can hardly notice it from the picture.

You do have to look hard to see the difference. You can feel a slightly rougher texture to the rest, but unless you studied it you'd never know. Its good stuff that scuffmaster kit. Leaving it to dry overnight and then I have some spray sealant to finish the job tomorrow.

The kit should last me years to keep on top of the odd disaster or scuff to this leather. Keep the car looking as new as poss.

Really pleased that you managed to sort this , Think my head would have exploded if that had happened to me
 
Where does this leather come from - Butterfly wings?
For general everyday use are seat covers worth having or do they create a potential scuff hazard ?
 
The CarPlan stuff is usually pretty good, I always use their shampoo as its one of the few that really lathers up well. I would be inclined to send a pic of the damage to them and their product used and ask for an explanation, if anything they might send you a freebie :)

when i first read this topic i misread it as nappy disaster - that could have been a whole lot worse :o
