Thanks but you may wish to check that the code on the bottle is designed for BMW engines. Last time I got Edge from Costco the code was for VAG engines and I use It when servicing my sisters Polo as it's the correct spec.

Often wondered if it is really that different, but never bothered to research it.

Probably isn't too dissimilar and I can't think that it would make a huge difference if changed frequently but always worth going for LL04 spec.

Nope.
So what is the code on the bottle?
No idea.
Even on the Castrol site they now list the new Titanium version which seems to indicate that it may cover different vehicles but you are still advised to check you handbook prior to purchase.
Doesn't seem unreasonable.
And I note you've quoted the 5w-30 when the recommended oil is 0W-30 but I think that's due to the information held elsewhere.
The handbook that came with my 2014 car (p245) quotes "BMW recommends Castrol" and "SAE 0W-40, SAE 0W-30, SAE 5W-40 and SAE 5W-30". From memory the selection of the "W" figure is climate / ambient temp dependent.
Maybe mother got it wrong and gave me the wrong book?
