My Zed went to a new home yesterday

Congratulations on your move, and more importantly having a pit! It's not exactly easy to get under a Z4 without that or a lift!

But if you have water in it with the current weather I'm just wondering if waders might be a better investment than a pump?

It probably really needs to be tanked, but I'm just jealous really! Hope you get plenty of use from it!

I don't think it's been used in years so if there is only a little water I'm not too worried. I might try and get some plastic duck boards, leave a hole for the pump and that way should be easy to sort on the occasions I need to use it.

You're welcome to borrow my pump if you can wait until the Watermill meet, I could bring it and give it to Perry etc, if they are close to you, then wait until another meet sometime to return it, no hurry as I bought it for one job. They won't be much to hire but if you want it it's not a problem.

Thanks for the offer but I'm going to buy one. Only about £30 on fleabay and I don't know how often I will need it.

Don't get a dirty water one srhutch you don't need one, the pick up sits higher than a normal one to cope with stones, mud, all sorts of crap and will leave more water in the pit than a clean pump.

That was my thought as I want to get as much water out. Tool station do a Draper one for about £37 so will probably go with that for a few quid more.

ah a pit that would have persuaded me to buy the house

Good luck mate in the new place. That pit dose look like it needs a double garage above it

Not sure I'd get away with a double but there is a five foot wide attached shed that I would probably remove during a rebuild and then relocate it to the back where there is more space.

Is this a typical srhutch type project which will start and never finish? :poke:

Keep the breeze block - at 6 feet deep I'll need it when I visit with my car

Congrats

Stuck my step ladder down it yesterday, it just popped out the top, so it's around 5 1/2 foot. Think there is about 1" if that of water.

fibre just gone live, no internet has been a pita. Mower delivered yesterday so just out to cut the grass.

Also had to order a window regulator kit as my passenger one has started making a noise so waiting for that to turn up, as I'm not touching the roof/window till its replaced.

Show off ... think of us country boys who have copper only. :headbang:

I'm amazed you haven't bought a leased line to your house as a business need expense...

I have fibre to the nearest exchange, the rest is overhead copper. I have a 80 mbps line which drops to 14 by the time it gets to me here. I can not get a leased line here ...

Still fast enough for you to stream 'Holländischer Holzschuhtanz' or 'The Wurzels Greatest Hits' whilst you're out on your tractor...

...I've just cut my Virgin 200+ Mbps service down as I really don't need the additional bandwidth (I was only maxing it out for less than an hour/week) - I'm now getting around 120 Mbps so it's not exactly slow and I can live with the slightly longer transfer times on those occasions when I do hit the buffers...

You need to get your neighbours to buy in with you. Would cost a couple of grand each though. One of the directors at work has just done it.

I won't mention the 60 Mbps I'm getting then
