My Z4M CSL - Stage 3 Mods

Still haven't got the Z4 mapped for the race head yet, lol. Been waiting for the new cams to be installed on the M3 e92, which they have been done now and want to get then both mapped at the same time. However been focusing on my M3 e92 (sorry members) as got a new Vorsteiner GTS5 'limited edition' front bumper (First in the UK). Waiting on a few more carbon bits for the engine bay and then I'm ready to have both cars mapped at brunty. Here's some pictures....

New Vorsteiner CSl type boot-lid...

Both together, old pic lol....

Oh yes, I think my M3 will be featured in BMW Car Mag soon as I have gone the NA route again. My Z4M induction noise is amazing, but the induction + M3 GuppeM Carbon airbox, new s65 Schrick (284) cams + Akrapovič Evolution Exhaust system in the s65 V8 is totally addictive, lol. I'll post an update when the Mag photo shoot & live mapping is complete.

Veryyy nice! Someone else that has a fetish for red /M's

Saw your MR down at Simpsons a few months back whilst having my APs fitted, was cool to see two similarly themed cars together. Wasn't as shiny that day as it is above :driving: 8)

Wow that thing looks bloody amazing! Really awesome mods there that body kit makes it look as fierce as it should have dont out of the factory!

Stunning pair of cars!

i think i saw your M3 in Derby a few weekends back... only caught a glimse and looked like that front.

Amazing

Is the tip of its boot lid painted black too?

The Vorsteiner rear boot lid is Carbon Fibre, and weave on the outside. The red paint blends out on the lip leaving the carbon fibre. Nice effect.

Final mod for my M3 is a new rear bumper. A company in Ireland Onyx Concepts do a lovely Carbon fibre bumper:

Yes Beedub has done some amazing stuff to his car :-)

Thanks Aquazi, Yes was probable me as I'm about in derby on the weekends.

Also I just heard from Roy at CA that I'm getting both cars Live-mapped this coming Monday at Brunty, finally, lol. Also the Goke Carbon Fibre Plenum has arrived so should be able to get that fitting this weekend I hope ready for Monday. Looking forward to the induction sound with that, the new cams and the GruppeM Airbox combo.

I think we are trying to arrange the Magazine - Performance BMW to come to do the photo shoot that Monday on both cars. So should be fun.

Once both mapped will try to get them dyno'd just to see what they are outputting now.

Its been a while since we've heard from you! Pleased to hear you've branched out with the V8 M3 - there's a brilliant vid on Drive (UTube) program called Tuned where Matt Farrah looks at Turner's M3 both road and track car. Very interestîng.

On the subject if the Z4M CSL there are 2 cam options are there not? One like the CSL the other more agressive? Which one did uou go for and has it done anything to idle and driveability?

Cheers!

Hello. There's 3 versions. Had the CSL spec but went for the next ones to get the best out of the new Stage 3 head and larger values. Have a spare set of CSL spec cames if your interested in? The ones I have give a little vibration when idling, but do give you kick up th rev range.

Let me know what you want for those.... I'm about to add a few more lbs boost ;-)
Target 500 WHEEL hp soon.

You'll need to factor in the cost of cam followers too Beedub.
I went head to head on track with a 450 bhp E46 M3 with a stage I ESS supercharger and it wasn't any faster than my M, so yours must be utterly epic Beedub

From a proper drag race that M3 would pulverize us BMWZ4MC, even that split second difference between you and him starting to accelerate if one is behind the other will make a lot of difference plus the fact that not many tracks offer straights long enough for a powerful car to really stretch its legs.

For example this between a Z4MC and a CSL. Both stock apart from lighter flywheel on the CSL and rear mufflers on the Z4. Even less difference in horsepower than you and that supercharged M3 and look how the CSL just walks away..

Hi bmwz4mc the stage ones are great but after a while they heatsoak pretty badly, especially at the track... Partly the reason I moved I on the upper kits, it's now consistent power, I still think Jesus when I drive it, I literally just got back from a blast.... It's freaking awesome. however as Ga41 suggest a blown stage 1 should rape a stock z4 BUt again, depends on a few factors, how long had it been running ect ect was it even running correctly??

It's my birthday next week so I'm going up a stage... .... Power is easy now with all the ancillaries in place. What I am trying to do is get more power without boost if you get me, so I'd like to do the csl cam upgrade, and go to town on the top end. I'll then do a live map session with ess. The next stage nets more much much more tq, the blower is just hitting its Efficiency range at the 10lbs mark.... It's to large for the lower power kits IMO. It's more tq I want know.

this is the last upgrade i can do on a stock motor..... the next upgrade is the 14psi VT3.... i dont think im ready for that. yet.

Beedub, I get back to you on the CAMS as their with Roy at CA-Technologies. Also you don't need the followers for the CSL ones. You need them for the next stage up ones.

Also off to the track tomorrow for the live map and Performance BMW photo shoot.... Should be fun. I'll post some photo tomorrow night.
