My Z4M CSL - Stage 3 Mods

Photo's from the day at the track with CA-Technologies Mapper and Performance BMW Magazine. The Z4 has an even loader induction noise and boy does it pull more now :-) The M3 is just amazing, now a real big kick higher up the rev range with those CAMS and ... what an induction noise from the Goke and GuppeM Airboxes. Very happy. Just now waiting on my new rear bumper then done....

From a proper drag race that M3 would pulverize us BMWZ4MC, even that split second difference between you and him starting to accelerate if one is behind the other will make a lot of difference plus the fact that not many tracks offer straights long enough for a powerful car to really stretch its legs.

For example this between a Z4MC and a CSL. Both stock apart from lighter flywheel on the CSL and rear mufflers on the Z4. Even less difference in horsepower than you and that supercharged M3 and look how the CSL just walks away..

True enough, I rekon the Z4MC (including mine) does not put the power down all that well from launch. Makes a lot of noise but I rekon you're faster off the line with a big diesel

Have to say, and I cannot believe that I am actually writing this, but I think I prefer your M3 to the Z4MR

Have to say after my live map the Z4M has loads and loads more torque from 2.5K upwards is like … dare I say it a … turbo. Even the guy who mapped it was surprise how much torque he could get out of it.

Oh yes the M3 is just amazing, yes it’s no way as agile as the Z4M but with the two airboxs (Goke & GruppeM), the Akrapovic Evolution exhaust and Schrick Cams it just sound amazing and really goes :-) I do struggle to which I prefer. :fuelfire:

id like some runs with the m3 :-)

Ask CA if i can come along next time when you guys are at brunters again??

Update 1: Been told by BMW Performance Car Mag that my M3 will be in the Feb 2013 edition, hoping they have this photo in it.

Also here's my new bumper, have to say it took a while to grow on me... I'm sure you'll see what I mean, but I really like it now.

Update 2: The Z4M is all mapped now and running very nice :-)

ohhhhhhhh ben the rear bumper on the m3 is horrific!!!! it looks like exactly like the 335i with those body kits on.... sometimes we spend money and its just not paid off.... please please please remove it and try something else.... it looks utterly pants....

the z4m is a true piece of porn!!!

I saw another coupe with the rear, in birmingham yesterday, but in grey and body coloured... Didnt looks so bad.

Stands out too much on yours thou. I think it would look better body coloured, except the very lower bit.

Hmmm. Not sure... I think Aquazi makes a good suggestion. That said, clean and polished, with polished pipes, perhaps might look better ? Hard at this time of year. Can see why it took time to grow on you, bit if you love it now then job done  :driving:

if your going to do it.... do it all out imo..... check out the carbon front and rear pieces on this beauty, and Yes they are Completely carbon fibre..... this is where id have gone with it imo.....

i have to agree with beedub.

the z4m turned out perfect. very well put together. the M3 however just looks overdone. the bumpers are too aggresive and "bodykit" looking for my tastes, the rear especially. i also think the carbon spoiler would look better not blended with paint. the faded carbon makes the trunk look more narrow. As long as you are happy with the outcome, all is good :)

I quite like it after the initial "fugly" look. It looks purposeful. One thing I've learned from my own backend is that even if it looks add in picture, in the metal, its a different story!

I was going to order the Grey version of the wheels, but though I'd like a change as I have the grey version on my Z4.

Have just read the article and although its about the M3, its really part two of the previous article they wrote back in 2010 on my Z4M. I'm sure you fellow Z4M owners will like the article as there's the answer to a question many people have posted.... lol
