Yup, keep Mr. Whippy.

Since you've got he mod bug, consider also

1. Upgrade yr calipers to E46 330 spec with 325mm rotors. Just done it, very pleased
2, ZHP knob... well it looks nice & slightly improved shift, though wasn't bad in the first place
3. De ginger front lights... surprised that wasn't top of your list

... and there's a Kent cruise just a few miles south of he busy lizzy bridge on 9th Sept, only a few min away

I'm on holiday then :( which is a shame otherwise I would come

Zhp knob is on my list of to get once I've fitted the short shifter

I was going to de ginger but I don't think I'm going to now

I like the sound of the 330 calipers are they much bigger? Got a pic?

I will try and get a set

Excellent, after abit of research this seems like a simple mod, And as i need pads and discs soon anyway the cost will be minimal

Im just going to have to find a set of calipers and carriers that a reasonably priced at a breakers or ebay

Maybe refurb them, paint them and bolt them on with some nice new pads and discs

Thanks for the heads up Jembo

So a quick update,

Full circle brake lights:

And this has been an ongoing project, im upgrading my front brake calipers to the calipers from an e46 330, which take bigger discs
I got the calipers from a brakers yard:

they were a bit of a mess, but after getting the seal and piston kits and a good clean up here they are, painted orange to match the back ones (with shiney new pistons):

All i need now is to buy the pads and discs and fit them

Ive also go the rogue engineering short shift kit in my garage that i need to fit, and im currently waiting for my cold air induction kit thats comeing from the US

Thanks for looking

Can you expand a little on the full circle brake lights and how you did it
Looks great IMO!

I like your attention to detail. I never even saw the 'French fries' before looking at this... They are now off mine too! :D

Thanks mate, yea the french frys do make it a litle diffrent

I didnt even know only half the brake light lit up, it wasnt till i was on a meet a the other month some one said 'is only half your brake lights surpossed to work?' lol
The full circle brake lights, is an easy mod. takes about 15 mins.

There is a thread on here: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1485&hilit=full+circle

But quite simply, remove the plug from the back of the light, (the one thats in my pic) flick the white clip out, now all the connections are expossed. you can now push out the two connections you want, which is wire 1 and 4 solder in a little loop pushe the connections back in and its done, repeat for the other side

sam1832, good job

Did you get the keyhole covers from the US, or make them yourself ?

Thank you,

Made them myself, http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40789

The ones from the US were like $25 each

Today my cold air intake arrived,

It's nothing

Full circle is just normal side lights, gets brighter when you press pedal

Normally I believe it's called brake force display, I think, when you press the pedal hard the whole circle lights up but its not a function that is turned on in the UK so we only get half a circle, I think it's to do with mot rules why it's not turned on

When you put the lights on the whole circle lights up I believe... Then the outer half is the brake light.

Which prompts a good point - I guess you will need to change the bulbs in the inner halves so they have the same dual brightness 'function', right ?

Brake force display is enabled on the facelift - lights up both fog lights under hard braking, as well as the brake lights. Though only the driver's side one works as a fog lamp under normal conditions.

Good point
Hmm the outter half defiantly has the dual filaments

I will check for the other one

Although, I would of thought both are dual filament as the inner circle would either be duller than the half of the brake light or brighter than the other half of the side light
